It most certainly does if he's able to convince the refs through his 20+ rolls or grabbing his face (when his face wasn't touched) to award yellows or possibly reds. You are lying to yourself if you don't think it has an effect on the current game, and the game of soccer as a whole. 9 times out 10, if someone is booked it’s deserved. It’s missed fouls that are the issue.

That’s wrong as shite. If the fouled player gets right up and trots off as opposed to rolling around, the REF frick is more likely to keep the card in the pocket. That’s just reality. If you think that’s not the case then you just don’t know how this sport works. A lot of calls are 50/50 subjective maybe giving a card and maybe not, the ref can easily be pursuaded by crowd noise, player reactions, and embellishments

A red is given when a guy like Mane goes studs up into a keeper’s face.

Contact with the head does matter though. And refs have a lot of lenience in what they deem as egregious enough to deserve a card, so embellishing to make them think the contact was harder than it was is definitely a way to induce cards.
The biggest impact of diving and embellishing is that other fouls where the player tries to stay on their feet aren't called. Guys get kicked and knocked off stride, clearly impeding their ability to play the ball, but they stay on their feet and fouls that should be given are not.

I didn't mention anything about an injury. Try again. You are naive if you think that players aren't ever given yellows because the person they fouled embellished the foul to make it look a lot harder than it actually was.
