Gregg last night

I hope last night was a sign that Gregg is actually being more open to changing his tactics. We played short if available but we finally played direct, with purpose, on many occasions. It was clear that Weah could beat Gallardo in the air and we used that as an outlet multiple times. Bypassing the midfield press and being first to a lot of second balls helped us control the flow of the match for the most part. Now trying to break down the defense around the 18 still needs some work but I'm encouraged how we changed the build up.
Btw, it also helps when we play short that Musah was able to turn his defender with ease last night.

Helder Costa for Musah straight up who says no?

Probably Valencia, lol. Like every other La Liga team sans Barca and Real the deal looks like this:
Valencia : Gets Costa on loan for low fee and future fee for pennies.
Leeds: Pays Valencia £40,000,000 up front and 3 years of installment payments

All your wcq points are belong to us

The real moment I will say Gregg has learned his lesson is when we see the Jamaica line-up.
If 7 of our 9 eligible starters are in the line-up, then he will have learned. If it’s only 3 or 4 and we leave points on the table, I will be pissed.

Yea nice to see us stop with that playing out the back nonsense in the second half

We still played out of the back at times but we were smarter overall about when we chose to do so and when we chose to use Steffen’s/our CBs’ distribution to get it to Weston or Weah in space centrally.

The majority of the second half we by passed the midfield
This side isn’t built to play out the back vs higher quality team
Good on Gregg to switch that tactic

No we didn't.
Our midfield was the vehicle for a lot of good things that happened in the second half.

This is correct. The evolution that I see, or that I hope is happening, as opposed to random luck, is better situational planning and decision making on when to build/combine and when to avoid danger and go direct where we have advantages. There were several instances of build up play that looked as good or better than anything Mexico was able to muster.

Yea I don’t know. I saw our midfield dominate the game in a way I’ve rarely seen a US midfield do against a quality opponent.

I am now even more angry that Luca DeLaTorre was left off this roster. I’d feel so much better having him next to Musah and Adams than any of these other options.

I’ve been impressed with Busio in Italy so far but I don’t think the Jamaica game suits him very well. He lacks pace and size and throw in Jamaica’s shite field and that’s not a great combination for him. I think we’ll see Lleget get the start

Agreed, but there’s no reason we should see Lletget over Busio at this time.

Yea I’d rather see Busio when looking at our other options. Also forgot about Acosta, decent chance he gets the start as well

Lletget, Roldan and Acosta are just different flavors of “meh, if we have to.” Busio and DLT are already better options.

Acosta is the next best pure 6, so imo he definitely has a role. Lletget and Roldan are very meh and imo LDLT should replace him.

Agreed but has Busio jumped LDT? I think so

They kind of play different roles. LDLT is good at progressing the ball from midfield. Busio is more of a shuttler/half space merchant. I would prefer LDLT for this game for his slightly better physicality.

Definitely, but my statements are more about who steps in for McKennie.
