When you play a team that will sit their back line deep and just play direct long balls, you try to beat them in the space between the midfield and the backline. Someone who can find open space and get the ball at his feet and allow people to play off of him/draw defenders higher. We subbed on Kellyn Acosta and a target forward.

I would love to get an explanation because I don't get it.

The only explanation I get is that he brought in Acosta to add a physical presence to pair in a double pivot with Adams with the match up 1-0.

It completely fricked us the second they equalized because he just can't be relied on as an 8.

No one gets it

But Gregg thinks he’s smarter than everyone

We had no plan for breaking a low block against Wales even though we had several months to prepare. Our wingers got the ball in wide positions and then just stood there before forcing a cross to the near post.

I am curious why so much of our offense consisted of random crosses

Part of that was due to poor passing. Too many times we had the ball in dangerous areas only for a pass behind to slow down the momentum, or just straight up passed the ball right to Wales.

But the second we put Acosta on, that was us saying we're not planning on scoring more than one goal tonight.

Greg hasn’t been able to add scoring goals to his system yet.

Should have subbed for McKennie about 15 mins earlier. He looked bad that second half

Morris, Acosta, Yedlin. He subbed as if we were up 3-0.

You don't like whipping in 40 crosses against a team that's much taller than you?

We have no plan for scoring other than a through ball and an athlete running on to it. If opponents sit back and we have no room behind, we just kick it wide and then hit crosses and hope for luck.

One good thing about not making it out of group is that it might bring the end of Gregg
