Someone on the r/MLS subreddit saw him make this comment on Fox and started a thread about it. Apparently they are discussing this for after Jurgen's contract is up.

Also, good time to mention that Mou wants to coach in MLS.

I think I like it, but I hope he realizes that we don't have the midfield talent to do what he is famous for.

Yeah. We will have a midfield comparable to Barcelona and Bayern soon. I can feel it.

We are already better than many teams in that regard. To say we aren't a top 15 team in the world is folly. Results are what matters on the big stage. Won the group in 2010 and advanced from one no serious pundits caught we should in 20014.

We are better than England right now and by far the best team in CONCACAF. Costa Rica was an anomaly and Mexico is fricking Mexico.

I think we are Top 15 in the world as a team. But our midfield skill level is nowhere near Top 15.

This is really the worst idea ever conceived.

Pep wouldn't be a good national team manager imo. He's too obsessive, he'd run into a lot of issues with club teams

Part of me thinks being a national team manager is a pretty cush job. Nobody says it because they don't want the countries to know that. Obviously, you do a lot of scouting a such, but club teams train every day. National team coaches have tons of free time.

They all do. Spain with Costa and Mou, Hodgson with Sterling and Rogers. It is a delicate balance, but I do see your point about Pep. He is one intense perfectionist.

He would be a disaster with all that free time. I honestly don't think he should do the national team thing until he's much, much older.

He wouldn't be nearly as good or influential as he was with Barca or is with Bayern, but lets be real, he'd be a hell of lot better than JK.

And I say that even though I largely like what Jurgen has done for the program.

There was this report that Pep would from last year someday like to coach us in the future. I believe he has an apartment in New York.

He lived in New York for a year after he left Barca. I don't think he'd be terrible but I'm just not sure how he would balance himself as a national team manager.

I feel like Pep would be insufficiently deferential to Lalas and Arena and probably be somewhat egotistical, so I am against this. Bring back Bob please so I can be happy again.
