I'm very impressed with Johannsson. Really enjoyed watching him. Aside from Altidore, I think he was the bright spot of the match.

Besler and Brooks both need a ball winner next to them IMO.

Gameplan: get good service to Altidore. Win.

Besler and Brooks would be an interesting combo. Not sure if there's enough physicality in there though. Omar, if he develops further, may be a better partner to Besler.

Brooks is just as physical as Gonzalez. He's going to grow up a lot tracking the likes of Lewandowski, Mandzukic, Ibisevic, Kiessling, etc.

We need to do everything we can to cap Brooks in this upcoming cycle. His athleticism is already evident, I don't think any forward will be able to outrun or outmuscle him

Aron Jóhannsson

Kevin Bacon

If you changed the shirts on these two pictures I wouldn't notice that Bacon was wearing the soccer jersey. They look identical.

I think the first half showed just how far behind Mix is from Stu when Stu is at his best.

Stu just doesn't get knocked around like Mix does. Different players, but I've heard several people talk about Mix filling Stu's shoes. Not really a like-for-like trade.

Johannson looked very good.

Evans, I actually like at right back. He has a midfielder's vision and picks guys out on runs, and puts in a decent cross.

Fabian is obviously best in the attack. I love him at left back, but he's so much better for us going forward.

Man, we suddenly have some depth.

where do you think Jozy's level of ability is compared to some of the better known strikers around the world?

like Dzeko who we faced today, or maybe someone like Benteke?

I dont mean comparable styles, just on the same level?

eta: this is a serious question, just trying to get a feel for how is production would be if he were on a team with better support all around this year in the BPL

Obviously I didn't watch him at AZ Alkmaar but his form for the US is just as good as any striker going right now. If he can carry this confidence to the PL and World Cup, he's going to make himself a shite load of money.

Jozy looked world class today. Really outstanding player right now. His 2013-14 season will have a huge role in determining how far the USMNT will go in Brazil.

Johannsson is exactly what we needed, I have been begging to find a dynamic player off the bench since Shea was our only option and he sucks. Johannsson is that player.

Evans is a solid 6 every game, pretty similar to how Dolo has been for a long time, granted Dolo gets (got) up and down a little bit better.

I think some of y'all are getting a little carried away re: Brooks. Some very good signs but he was arguably responsible for all 3 goals and has lots of room for improvement in the air. He has a good build and skill set for sure though.

I really wish he stayed at AZ for another year. I am always nervous about a guy who needs confidence and games to be able to produce.

He has had some awful years in Europe and I don't want him to lose his confidence if he struggles in Sunderland.
