FIFA Rankings Updated: USA Drops Seven Spots

I know it's a formula, so I'm not mad...but it makes their ranking look ridiculous when we beat Germany, the Netherlands, and Honduras and drop 7 spots.
Good news: Mexico is in free fall. So is Costa Rica.
Also happy to see my Ireland is up 8 spots. World Cup Qualifying draw takes place later this month, hoping for something kind.

But Wales moves into the top 10 after having a lucky run? They may make Euros but they won't look like a top 10 team once they get there.

Romania is more curious than Wales to me. They've been in the top ten for a while now and haven't really beaten anyone to get there.

Yep, UEFA and CONMEBOL have been playing competitive matches, which are weighted more heavily than friendlies.

The weight is the fact every Euro team is playing games that mean something while we were playing friendlies. We don't have to qualify for the Gold Cup but every team in Europe has to qualify for the Euros. Adds a lot more games for them that help.

Yep, was just reading concacaf teams always fall in the ranking during this time of year.

They have Ramsey and Bale. We don't have anyone close to those two players. And Ramsey has only been healthy just recently.

Even with Ramsey, Bale, Adam Matthews, and company--Wales is not a top ten team. I'd fancy the US over them in most games.

We're up 4 spots to #14 in the ELO rankings which I generally think are a bit more accurate. Mexico dropped 7 spots to # 15 so that's awesome too.

I really hope we get to see Bale at an international competition. It sucks not seeing him in the World Cup or Euros.
