So without the Valbuena issue with the French team in general you don't think Benzema would have been invited over Gignac, Giroud, Martial, and Payet?

I was always under the impression that the whole thing with the extortion was the thing that was keeping him out of the Euro squad.

I was under that impression as well. France is loaded though and Benzema just doesnt seem right. I dont know, last world cup he was on fire and lately he looks a little lately and has some nagging injuries.

Saúl and Isco left out of the Spain squad.

After a second look, I'm very underwhelmed by this squad.

No Gokhan Tore, Mevlut Erdinc, or Serdar Aziz but Terim decides to bring an 18-year old who has played half a season in Denmark and only 3 true central defenders, one of whom sucks and another who has only played a handful of games this year. The third is a 21 year old who has capped four times in his life.

I don't care what anyone says, if France's manager takes a baw who tried to blackmail their own god damn teammate, then they're wrong. No arguing it.

Looking at the Germany roster, specifically their midfield, I'm curious as to why guys like the Bender twins and Kramer didn't make it over someone like Weigl. Can someone like SCH or Hendo explain this to me?

I'm also surprised to see Bellerin make the roster because IIRC he wasn't in the initial roster release. Well earned though.

This was a 24-man provisional squad, but I took Lombaerts out. He's injured. Sky reports Engels and Boyata Out With Kabasele a Replacement

Looks like Laurent Ciman is missing from the defenders.

ETA: Funny how Belgium classifies their players. Only 4 midfielders.

Not really. Benzema should see jail time, much less be in the euros

I'm also curious about Guilherme's role in Russia's squad.

I don't have a problem with him being there (he's been at Lokomotiv forever), but if he's just going to be 3rd keeper, why bother?

Weigl is awesome. Super composed 20 year old. I liked him every time I watched him.

I'm amazed France is only bringing six midfielders.
