I never said they were comparable. Swag is awesome but you guys are defending him to the core already with your Liverpool inferiority complex.

You'll never convince me that defending my team's player is a bad thing.

People are just saying with what Welbeck can do in other aspects of the game is a reason they would want him over Swag. Nothing more nothing less. Just read the thread.

As I said, all this talk about destabilizing the dressing room is just ridiculous. If I misunderstood Dan's outlook on the system then I apologize for that. I can entertain that argument. My defensiveness comes more so from perpetuating silly stereotypes.

I'm not going to say he's garbage by any means, but Welbeck isn't in the same league as Balotelli.

Balotelli is fricking phenomenal when he's on his game. I agree though, he CAN get a little "off". I hesitate to call it lazy because I don't think he just gives up. Maybe frustrated would describe it better? He just lets his emotions get the best of him at times, for better or worse.

I have not seen anyone say he is as good as swag

He won't hurt any chemistry unless things get bad. He may throw a tantrum or two but I don't see him making a big enough stink to cause some huge division.

Nothing to defend, he's done absolutely nothing wrong... We all know his history, we all know his potential... We're hoping for the latter, its as simple as that... It was a £16mm roll of the dice that if it doesn't work out, we get at a minimum, 3/4 of our investment back on a resale...

I just don't rate Welbeck as a top 4, starting number 9... I was envious as hell over Arsenal's signing of Alexis and think he's terrific! Has nothing to do with who I support...

When you blindly do it without be some what honest and subjective it is.

Maybe its what makes Liverpool fans so intolerable sometimes. They throw all common sense out the window.

Im very pro swag and think alot of it was over blown. But you cant hide the shite he had done on the field. He has bumped heads with every manager even when he had that father/son type relationship at City.

He's been popular in almost every single dressing room he's ever been in. Will he clash with a manager? Maybe so, if that manager is a total douche. I'd like to take our chances on that front.

eh, if he puts that one on goal instead of trying to be the setup man for Studge, Man City fans assholes are in their throat at that point...

He didn't, we lost and it happens... but he did what he was brought on to do. Is he world beater? far from it... He has a role to play for the team and I think he'll do it well. He wasn't brought here to be a starting striker on a regular basis...

Exactly. He might be a better teammate and a better every match player. Will Danny have the highlight stuff? No, but he won't be a poison in a locker room if things go wrong.

I really like the signing of DW, I hope it works well.

How is saying that his destabilization of the locker room is totally ridiculous? How is saying that he only loses concentration with twat managers totally out of line? Both are a common theme.

He'a also never been assigned a man marking on a corner kick. NEVER in his career. He's treated like a complete child and so he acts like a child.

I'd probably be more worried about players like Falcao and Di Maria, on huge wages and walking into the first team, destabilizing a dressing room... may be nothing to it, but it has happened before, especially with a manger like LVG at the helm...

No doubt. For example:

This celebration led to a 6-1 absolute THRASHING.

Mourinho was/is/always will be a black and white guy. He either loves you or hates you and vice versa. It isn't shocking he didn't get along with Swag.

Mancini had no idea how to handle a locker room or star players. I love the guy and I'm grateful for what he did at City but he isn't exactly a 'team manager' in that sense. Your father/son thing is overblown to say the least.

Milan just fricking sucks. I would get pissed there too.

He didn't do that but he still has his issues.

You mean every manager he has had including one he looked at like a father.

Don't you think his maturity and work ethic might just play a part into that.

Something which has never been questioned about Welbeck.

A manager that will treat him like an adult and give him respect (never experienced that before)

Prandelli was precisely that. Balotelli melted down with him worse than any of the others (after admittedly a good three year run). However, when it happened it was on the biggest stage after Prandelli had defended him endlessly against criticism that he should expect exactly that.

I wouldn't necessarily say that Allegri nor Seedorf didn't show Balotelli respect though I'm not a fan of Allegri's personality and Seedorf was a strange situation all around but a guy that no one else seemed to clash with.

I hope he does well at Liverpool however that "he's never been shown respect" doesn't really convince me when he's kind of flipped out on Prandelli who'd shown him more than anyone and Italy's NT was hardly a dumpster fire aside from Balotelli's freaking out on the pitch for those 2 matches and Cassano causing stress.

I agree that his team mates all really like him and I don't get the sense he's a big locker room problem. At worst you hear someone like De Rossi, who's notoriously candid, say he's a good guy that needs to become a man and that was in the frustration after Balotelli's episode during and after the Uruguay match.
