Which is why them being ranked in the 8-10 area is right...on Willie hill they are joint 10th with France, which is about right.(personnally id be more likely to back England than france)
Also if bookies just wanted us to lump on England they would stick them at 50/1
I don't see past Brazil and Germany, I've never bought into the Argentina hype and I think Spains midfield will suffer in the altitude.
If i had to pick a real outsider I'd go with an African team, Ghana or Ivory Coast, pure athleticism in those conditions will count for alot.

Someone had told me the ones of the coast were quite high? must have been lied to
EDIT: Just checked them all, apparently Brasilia is nearly 4,000 feet which would be a factor in their last 16/QF,

I actually think Columbia will surprise a lot of people. Argentina will be the 4th best SA team there, behind Brasil, Columbia, and Uruguay.
Germany's defense is a lot more suspect than people think. Hummels is a lot more suspect than people think, though Per has been in excellent form for Arsenal. I just don't see their back line fairing well, ESPECIALLY with the loss of Sami. That guy was the backbone of the team.
I really like what Brasil can field, but I don't think they will win it. I'm not sure if it is a lack of a veteran presence, or due to the ridiculous pressure, but something just tells me they won't win.
Depending on how the draw goes, I could see Brasil, Spain, Columbia, and Germany as the last four. 50/50 for a Euro team, but I just think there is a reason a team from Europe hasn't won there before.
If I'm putting money on a team it's going to be one of either Columbia, Uruguay, or Holland, just because I like the long shots.

I wouldn't say I'm "going" for them. I just think they have a great shot. I would put money on them because their odds are longer than the favorites.

a soft team, who better hope they don't catch an African team, or the hack attack will Put them in the bottom 2. Soft teams wilt to the hack attack of the africans. And Belgium is soft like butter.
Columbia is a great play at 20/1 or better, and i wouldnt be afraid to lay some bucks on Chile at 40/1 South america might have their strongest 5, ever in WC.

So a Colombia team with little big tournament experience, filled with player with little big tournament experience, is more likely to win the World Cup than Argentina. Uruguay is better than Argentina. Uruguay has Suarez and Cavani, and a few players scattered around Europe. Chile is probably the closest team to match the talent and form of Brazil and Argentina.

They won't be relying on a defense marshaled by Gabriel Heinze and Martin Demichelis and managed by a cokehead who sees himself on the same level of political stature as Che Guevara and Hugo Sanchez.

Yeah, Germany is certainly among the favorites but people look at their attacking talent and overlook that they're not rock solid at the back. They're a team that could win it all but will be susceptible to losing a knockout to teams like Holland, Italy that may finish 2nd in their groups and be an early match up.
Most people had them pegged as more a favorite than Spain this past Euros as well. I wouldn't put any European team over Spain as a favorite until someone from Europe actually beats them.
I think Brasil is going to be hell to deal with.
Their back line could be simply fantastic with Thiago Silva, Dante, Marcelo, Dani Alves and Maicon (plus whoever makes it out of Marquinhos, Leandro Castan, David Luiz).
Also, that Hulk seems recently decided to be a team mate helps resolve some of their questions about a first choice front line.

The right CB pairing and they will do well. Lam is as good a defender as any in the game and if they can find the right partner for Hummels or afford to drop him all together they might be alright. The biggest issue is that they can't press that high if they play Mertesacker. That creates spacing issues all over the field.

Per is balling out for arsenal, but he and kos mesh so perfectly neither will replicate their club form for the national team.
