re: Chelsea FC: You’re Abramovich, buying or selling Sarri?

They still haven’t replaced emanolo.... marina Marina marina.
They have to have decided to start listening to the manager no? I don’t see how sarri can ever work if he can’t pick his players. Or any manager for that matter. Conte worked a miracle, for real.

Lol. No strangers to state of the art facilities though.

without a dof linking all the pieces, then yeah. i dont know if Sarri is the guy you want to hand the keys to though. hes oldish and inflexible.
Conte, insane and also pretty infelxible, at least showed some sort of tactical nous and was unafraid to give some of the prospects a shot.
i would love to see them bring in someone whom Roman will defer too and define a system, recruit players and managers around it, and link the youth setup up to the first team with clear pathways. you know, like a real, non-dysfunctional club.

Sarri is doing exactly this. It's just not working at the moment.
ETA: He hasn't been able to completely re-haul the squad, but he has gotten pieces. It's slowly coming together.

sarri is barely rotating. so im not sure where you see he's integrating the youth system, because hes not playing them.
im not anti-sarri, and i hope he gets another year and a couple more players to see if he can make it work. but if it doesnt, and he's got a couple more guys like jorginho who are system fits, not necessarily adaptable talents, then we're right back in the same situation with the next guy with square pegs and round holes, potentially.
fwiw, i dont think Sarri's system will ever be like it was Napoli again, at least not at chelsea. Hazard isnt the best fit, neither are willy and pedro, Kante isnt a good fit, we dont have a real b2b goal threat, and our full backs arent good fits. thats alot of problems to fix in a a couple windows, windows that might not be there thanks to an incoming ban.

Bit of a miscommunication.
By "linking the youth setup" I meant that the youth academy is learning and playing his system in their games.
Even I'll admit he's done a shite job at playing academy/younger players

oh, well yeah, i mean they were playing 3 atb almost as soon as Conte switched to it in the first team too.
in my dreams, Sarri rides some rough waters for a couple years, the team gets younger, more energetic and exciting, then Super Frankie Lampard swoops in and carries on the attacking 433 with new dof John Terry as cups burst out of tightly locked trophy cases.

Roman needs a handler me thinks. Lamps gets my vote.

the ideal model would be to flesh out the squad with the cream of the youth teams instead of burning cash on the drinkwaters, girouds, and zappacostas to ride the bench, and re-invest those savings into a 2 or 3 world class buys,
This times a million. We've never played our youth guys much really but it's because we were getting world class players to fill holes. Now we are spending tens of millions on players who everyone in the world knows is at best a squad player in which we already have 3-4 younger guys capable of filling the role with the prospect of actually improving.

He’ll be on a TYFYS loan with Godfather Marcelo.

Selling. I’ve lost faith in Sarri

But this sums up the difference of a club like Chelsea and others
CHO doesn’t play while United play 4 academy grads and get the win
It’s all about the culture of the club

I think culture is important, but why have Chelsea won much more than United lately if that's the case? How are City miles ahead of I United if academy grads matter.

Both spent more money
Of the three United is the only self sufficient club with out a sugar daddy

We suck right now and are still in basically the same position as United as far as the season goes.
Posted on 2/18/19 at 3:34 pm to RandySavage
And we were like 16 points back and have ran you down and passed you in the league and knocked you out of the cup with a manager fired by Cardiff

So two months overrides the past decade?
