I missed the first half, but the second was a joy to watch.
Enzo looks increasingly lost. Sanchez…he’s going to cost us some matches.

I can’t imagine Sanchez getting EPL work after this. What more does Enzo need to see? He should be moved to Europa games only, if that. A shitty keeper.
Nice second half. Good adjustments. I was in the minority but I know Felix is a player and should eventually see more time. He and Neto. Defense still blows. Nice to get 6 goals especially at Wolves where Blues have struggled. Keep the momentum going.

I thought Enzo played well and I’ve dumped on him in this thread (and last year’s) more than anyone. Ciacedo put the defense in bad positions for both goals if I’m remembering both correctly.
It was just Wolves, but that is the type of team that Chelsea needs to beat away to have a shot at Top 4. Good win.

Haven't beat them away in 5 years I think I saw. Definitely a step down from the quality they have been at during that stretch but a good win for sure.

Wolves are not a bad team.
Best offensive game we have had in years.

I thought so as well. Caicedo wasn’t as poor as portrayed.
Our back line has issues.
Fofana was out of position on one goal (badly).
They seem to be struggling with positioning (which makes sense given what we are doing now). In time, it could (should) sort itself out.
Mudryk will be shite on, but Palmer stayed towards the right side of the pitch in the first half. Mudryk stayed wide, which means the space was there for CP to drive. In the second half, he did. When the ball came back to him, he looked to his right, and the goals came.
As for Jackson, he is what he is, raw…but getting better.
All in all a good day.

Osimhen bid is in.
Saudi league.
He hasn’t agreed yet.
He wants total freedom to move as of next summer.
Chelsea is still in the mix, but the clock is ticking.

Sancho and Sterling in a swap is also being discussed.

Sancho? I don’t get it. Moving Sterling is fine by me but for Sancho?
Posted on 8/28/24 at 7:44 am to TCO
Nobody wants Sterling. Now hearing Chilly to ManU.

This Osimhen saga reminds me of Lukaku a few seasons ago. Is he worth it? And won’t his acquisition hinder Jackson’s advancement?

Too close for comfort. Survive and advance I guess. Didn’t see one minute of the match. Nkunku scored on a PK but that’s about it. Reading about it and sounds like Filip had a bad day in goal and Disasi looked like shite.

Chalobah permanent to Palace. Wish Sterling was permanent but it will be next season. Head scratcher is Sancho, who I have never thought much of and hasn’t done much since BVB. Other than that, decent business at the deadline.

Kepa doing Kepa things for Bournemouth. Dreadful Everton bagging two already.

Losers: Chelsea Chelsea and Todd Boehly stayed true to themselves right up until - and beyond - the closure of the window.
Did any of it make sense? No. But do you have to respect the commitment to the bit? Also no. The Blues continued to hoard assets for seemingly no other reason than the thrill of the chase. They didn't need Pedro Neto or Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, but they spent £84 million on them anyway. Joao Felix's previous loan spell was an unmitigated failure, so they went one better and signed him outright. They splashed over £200 million on new faces, including, for some reason, a last-second move for Jadon Sancho, which should be announced any minute.
Yet they aren't demonstrably better because they still don't have a certified No. 9 or a legitimate No. 1 goalkeeper even though, you guessed it, they signed more of those, too. Chelsea couldn't land Victor Osimhen and, in a fitting end to the window, gave Raheem Sterling away for free to league and city rivals Arsenal. They're even paying a huge portion of his salary without negotiating any purchase option because they kicked him out of the squad and lost all their leverage.
Incredible stuff.
Sancho is another winger with a bad injury history so he should fit right in
its like the board doesnt give a shite about continuity or culture, they just keep buying players like a big company buys assets. The problem is at some point you have to integrate the assets and mesh them together and make it whole
sum total of transactions

Trevoh Chalobah has been rescued from footballing limbo by a last-minute deal on Transfer Deadline Day, now officially confirmed and ratified as well. The 25-year-old has joined Crystal Palace on loan for the season, without any additional obligations or considerations.
Chalobah has been part of the Chelsea undesirables, a.k.a. “the bomb squad”, but rumors of a potential move had been scarce for much of the transfer window. Palace had been speculated about briefly, but only in conjunction with Marc Guéhi leaving them and joining Newcastle United. That doesn’t appear to be happening, but Chalobah’s going anyway. So there’s a decent chance they’ll get to field an all-Chelsea Academy center back pairing, which is nice.
TC has four years left on his contract so CFC will have to do this again next season if he doesnt stick at CPFC
