The Captain delivered. Did they say why Lavia didn’t start?

If Reece James could ever stay healthy it could make such a difference for this club

Hate that we struggle against a shite ManU side. Thrilled with the win but damn. Hard to believe that one more win will get us Champions League. Give Enzo credit for getting Chelsea to this position.

The Prem is so bad this year, if we can't even finish top 5 might as well fold up shop. Hopefully we get it done and it can help attract the type of talent we need

The additional money should help us solidify a top striker, CB and maybe keeper although they keep talking like they like who we already have. And Sanchez has been pretty good lately, although I still do think he’s Chelsea class.

I don’t think so.

Arsenal and Villa both made deep runs in the Champions League,
Liverpool is a really good squad, and Man City is still pretty damned good as well. Newcastle and Forrest are also pretty good. The mid tier teams (Brighton, Bournemouth. Fulham, and Brentford) are all pretty good as well. Even playing at Palace or West Ham is tough. Hell, the two teams currently in 16th and 17th place are playing for the Europa league championship. Throw in Chelsea playing in a final and I would suggest that the league is actually pretty deep.

Just my .02.

Maybe it has more decent teams in the middle of the table but all of the good teams outside liverpool are down, most way way down.

I mean, what’s the metric?

Europe?

Arsenal went as far as Barcelona.

Villa equaled Bayern and Real Madrid.

I mean, only Juventus and PSG have gone further.

To me, the EPL has quality, and is EASILY the deepest league in the world.

Villa beat Club Brugge and Arsenal beat PSV to get to the quarters.

Arsenal beating Real was impressive sure but judging everything by a one off set of games is as silly as judging a college conference by a bowl game. Europa and the Conference League are a total joke.

It's no doubt the deepest, no argument here but the top of the league is as bad as its ever been.

Perhaps you are right.

It’s either that, or that the rest of the league has upped its game and league matches are simply more difficult. It’s not like big money isn’t being spent at the top half. In addition to the usual cast of big spenders, Newcastle, and Villa are also dropping some cash. Thanks to us, even Brighton has some extra funds.

Again, maybe the top of the league is just shite and I don’t see it.

Cheers my friend.

The Blues only have two matches left. One secures Champions League, the other secures Europa and gets them a trophy.

At the start of the season, given how young the squad is, I would say that the current situation would have been acceptable.

Of course, if they lose both then that equates to a shite season.

Backing into Europa (or, God forbid, another run through the Conference League) is simply unacceptable…no matter how young that we are.

Striker
-Delap
-Osimhen
-Sesko (Leipzig)
-Gyokeres (Sporting)

* in order of probability imho

CB
-Hato (Ajax) - a backup for Cuch
-Guehi

* I think we sign both, with Guehi as the obvious priority

Keeper
-Petrovic

* This is a done deal imho, as he is light years better than what we already have, and…he is under contract. I believe that Sanchez gets retained and that both Filip Jorgensen and Lucas Bergstrom go to Strasbourg.

Welp. Do or die time against NF on Sunday. Tall order.

Making the Champions League should be a tall order. An “all the marbles” match is a good thing for this young squad (win or lose).

Not having Jackson is a BIG deal.

I would suggest that without him that we are decided underdogs.

Maresca is going to have to earn his money.

I've been down on Chelsea since the illegal confiscation of our club by the British govt and subsequent American takeover but can we just take a moment to appreciate the fact we aren't Spurs?

I was basically embarrassed the two times we won the Europa League at the fact we were even in that second rate nit equivalent. These sad Spurs fans are acting like they just won the Champions League. Must be a tough existence

Sure we can laugh at Spurs but I’d love to be in their position right now. Of course they’re gonna get curb stomped in the CL but they’re there now. We need a complete performance without a legit striker on Sunday to get there.

Dude they are 17th in the league with a clueless coach a terrible owner and little to no young talent or hope for the future. Winning the Mickey mouse cup doesn't change any of that.
