Tuchel better get with the program and start Pulisic or he needs to be fired. No excuse to leave him on the bench. Everyone else starting in front of Pulisic is absolute garbage.

The most measured response in this thread. Cheers Geoff.

Pulisics playing style is high risk high reward. He thrives on confidence and when he’s in form, it helps with a defender playing more safe and flat footed. Right now he has very little confidence. He’s losing the ball too much, dribbling with his head down and just running full speed. The more he’s benched the more he seems to try and force things.

I have a feeling he starts vs Atletico. I think Tuchel wants to play him and get him back into form.

This is the equilibrium to his game. What makes him unique is his ability to run at defenders with or without the ball but it also means that he gets out of whack quickly when he has a failure.
He has a skill set that no one other than maybe Werner has on the team but his success will be very much related to the chemistry he builds with teammates he can run off.

"Pulisic deserves to start". - this from Tuchel. What a load of crap! It would be much better if he just said his form is off thus he is not starting. But he won't because he has not given Pulisic a fair shot.
Let's face it priority has always gone to Werner whether it was Lampard or Tuchel.
In fact when played out of position Werner was horrible far worst than Pulisic's play when Pulisic plays out of position - which has been most of the year, under both coaches, by the way.
Where might Pulisic be with form if given the same opportunity to play, in his best position, with equal amount of play. If you gave him Timo's minutes in the position Timo played my bet is he would have been much more productive.
Timo's touch, dribbles, shooting, have been amongst the poorest on the team but they have not waivered getting him in form at the expense of playing others where they fit.
In fact the reason they moved Pulisic around is precisely because he was the better option to add value somewhere else to help the team.
This dribble Chelsea coaches /mgmt give you about competing everyday for minutes is BS - they are not without politics. I saw that with Lampard and now we are seeing it with Tuchel.
By the way, I am not necessarily opposed to it - because as a coach you go with what you think best but call it for what it is please.

Both players were unused substitutes for the victory over Newcastle, and a report in the Daily Star suggests Chelsea could be forced to move at least one of them on this summer.
Talk this morning about moving CP or Ziyech this summer. I still think Tuchel wants to keep CP due to their relationship from BVB and Ziyech has not been heard from since Wolves draw. He seems to be the odd man out.

CP should start one of the next 2 fixtures, right? With Tammy out, maybe sliding Timo to the top and Christian moving into the left forward position?

Yes in fact it would be telling if he didn’t start due to the injury. Ziyech and Kia have been the most disappointing of the new guys and Chillwell, who was playing well under Frank, has not seen the field. I hope he is in future plans. And what about the loanees like Loftis-Cheek, Barkley and Ampadu? I’d love to see Ampadu and Cheek back...Barkley not so much.

Silva and Havertz available for Saturday vs Saints. Last match against a bottom 10 side until early April, so Tuchel has had the benefit of schedule softness to get off to a strong start. Get through Saturday and then a biggie at Atletico to see where we really are.

Pulisic with a calf issue now. The injury list is beyond scary at this point. He’s the best US player in history so far, but his career won’t go much further unfortunately. Chelsea might be smart to cash in on him.

Not an injury. Just “awareness”. Pulled from training to avoid an injury.

Looks like I have the magic touch. Turn the second half of Southampton match and... Boom! Equalizer at 53rd minute.

Well that was interesting drama with Hudson Odoi

What’s the point of 70% possession if you create no opportunities nor take any shots? Blues were fortunate to get the PK because of the offensive ineptness. And taking CHO off after 13 mins was ridiculous- Werner offered nothing today and should’ve been sat. Ziyech has proven to be nothing for this side and CP and Kai are MIA. Blues are about to hit a stretch of legit teams and cannot score. Pathetic effort on a day where 3 points were desperately needed. Mount, Kovacic and Jorginho have been solid and need to be on the pitch together.
Posted on 2/20/21 at 9:21 am to In The Know
I feel like there were only 2 attackers on the field today. I may be wrong but Mount is more suited in the midfield.
Can Oli and CP find form and save the season again?

Why was CHO pulled after 30 minutes?
Posted on 2/20/21 at 9:44 am to cwil177
Tuchel: " We changed our formation and brought on Hudson- Odoi, but with him I was not happy with the energy and the attitude and the counter- pressing. We decided to take him off because we demand a lot. We demand 100 percent and I had the feeling he is not right in this shape where he could help us."

Damn that’s harsh. CHO has been a bright spot since Frank was sacked and I guess Tuchel is trying to motivate him but if he isn’t careful, he could lose him psychologically. Where the hell is CP? We needed some pressure offensively and he could’ve provided that.
