Where do you think he’s going? He’s a starter for Chelsea

He was. It’s just a gut feel from Tuchel’s reactions to questions about Pulisic. Can’t quite put my finger on it, but I think if he doesn’t go post-lockdown mode quickly, he will not be playing much, and will push for a transfer.

I just don’t see Pulisic remaining at the Bridge this summer.

My hot take:

I doubt he leaves this summer, but I do think some are overestimating how much Tuchel rates Pulisic just because he was the one that introduced him to first team football at Dortmund. (not pointing fingers at anyone here, more generally speaking)

Long term under tuchel I see him used more as a super sub than a starter. If that’s the case, maybe that’s enough for Pulisic. However, I would hope he’d want to be playing constantly, and would push for a move at some point.

Not controversial IMO. Pulisic doesn't warrant being more than a super sub at a top club if he can't stay healthy. You can't depend on him to be there when you need him.

He’s been okay lately. Another injury will push me towards the uh oh category.

His small stature lends itself to injury. Clubs know to get physical with him. He’s going to find it tough sledding unless he gets stronger on the ball.

Maybe it's because he's always rehabbing, but if he wants to have a long career with big clubs he needs to spend a summer adding weight and muscle. Enough is enough at this point.

He’s obviously not a big guy, but he doesn’t look out of place physically when compared to others in his position. He just seems really weak.

I think we are overly critical on CP. He hasn't gotten into form because he is injured every few months.

No one was pushing for him to add muscle when he was demolishing opponents after the break.

If he stays healthy, then he will be a solid producer for us. If he keeps getting injured, then his career will be short-lived. It's really that simple.

Are we pretending he’s hurt again?

I’m new to the soccer world. I started supporting CFC when CP was announced. So take this with a grain of salt...

I watch all of the videos Chelsea releases on YouTube, as well as their Instagram. Every instance that I see of CP warming up or stretching, it almost seems “half-assed.” I can distinctly remember when he was warming up next to Giroud and there was a noticeable difference in the quality of the warmup/ stretch.

I want him to succeed not only for himself but also for the USA. I did see that he was in the training session today!

Nah. Compare his glutes/lower body to other wingers in the league who play at his pace and aggression. They are much bigger and able to take contact compared to CP.

Vs Barnsley:

Chelsea Kepa; Emerson, Christensen, Zouma, Alonso, Kante (c), Gilmour, Hudson-Odoi, Ziyech, Pulisic, Abraham.

Subs Caballero, Azplicueta, James, Rudiger, Chilwell, Kovacic, Bate, Anjorin, Giroud

Interested to see what Ziyech Pulisic and Tammy can do up top without Werner. Kepa in goal God help us. Kai still not fit.

Sleepwalked through the match against a game Barnsley. Thanks goodness for CHO and Tammy, who should have been awarded a PK early. Kepa was a little shaky as always but made a great save from point blank range early on. Ziyech and Pulisic were nonexistent. Still can’t score. Got a favorable draw against Blades in the next round but won’t beat them if they play like this. Very frustrating team.

I don't think we sleepwalked through anything, we just kind of suck. Who would have ever predicted after the first few games our attack would blow and our defense would be one of the best in the league?

strangest aspect of the season by far

one thing, Frank’s tactics were so bad CFC could sleepwalk through a match like this and defeat was a possibility. At least with TT, his tactics seem solid enough that CFC can play some second unit guys and not lose to a game but less talented opponent

You may be right but Chelsea isn’t beating anyone worth a shite scoring 1.6 goals a game. Tough stretch coming up including Atletico and this team has to figure out how to score goals.
