1. Won't happen.
2. This could be horrible. I don't like the idea of putting our two best eggs (Jozy and Bradley) in one basket.

They have signed some good players and seem to play pretty good football. I didn't say they were Barcelona. Di Canio is an upgrade over Martin O'Neill at least.

It is, parity-wise. It isn't, style-wise. I'd much prefer Bradley playing against squads that weren't kicking him the entire time. I'm pretty sure that the only soccer you've watched (based on your comments about MON and "attractive football") is the MLS, EPL and some UCL.

The UCL says differently. I'm also pretty sure that Juve could have walked the EPL last year.

The PL's marquee matchup today was incredibly awful. You expect more out of those matches. Bayern v Dortmund matches are great games to watch because they go at each other. I wish more leagues would have their top teams have a go at one another. I think Barcelona v Real is going to be more entertaining now that Jose is gone.

Is Roma having a fire sale or something?

The only upside is Bradley could play with Jozy. Not worth it. The EPL is better, but it's not worth playing on a bad team. It's only a good move if Bradley is going to be on be bench at Roma.

He has been jerked around some, but the fact that he started game one gives me confidence that he will continue to start.

No. I don't understand what's hard to comprehend here. Is Di Canio not an upgrade over O'Neill. Sure, he's crazy as shite. But they have played better at the end of last season and this year than they ever did under O'Neill.

I watch plenty of all the big leagues. I'm just not a Euro hipster douche soccer fig like most of the pussies that occupy this board. I'll continue to let those guys suck off the Italian/Spanish leagues while I trust what my eyeballs tell me that the English/German leagues are superior products.

Actually, the UCL coefficient proves my point. Serie A has lost an automatic spot into the group stage because the league has regressed while the Premier League has continually gotten bigger and bigger in terms of teams winning, money spent on players and tv money. The numbers back up what I'm saying, whereas you just throw shite out there like "Juve would walk the EPL." Manchester Utd, Chelsea, and Man City buy better, more expensive players than Juve, which means they are better teams.

ETA: I don't mean to offend anyone who is not a Euro hipster douche soccer fig. If that is what you are, then I do mean to offend.

I'm not sure he's exactly an upgrade, as O'Neill was a proven PL manager who actually won two trophies, albeit the League Cup. Di Canio had good success at the lower levels but it remains to be seen if he is a PL level manager.

The leagues are cyclical. The tactical variation from Italy and Spain to Germany and England is wide enough to say that certain teams who have perfected a particular style would do well in other leagues.

There is nothing about Sunderland that leads me to believe that it is a better fit for Bradley than Roma is. The most important thing is that he plays regularly, and if he doesn't get that at Roma then he should move, whether it be to Sunderland or somewhere else. Roma certainly has a richer history than Sunderland, and I'd rather live in Rome than the Northeast of England.

Probably right. From the beginning, all I said was I don't hate the move. Not advocating it. This thread kind of went sideways.

Are you serious?

I'm not saying Juventus is better than those teams, but surely you realize this is a silly argument.

Diminishing returns, but yes, there is a strong correlation for spend more = better team. This is impossible to argue against.

When you compare the top 10 teams in the world, there are more important things that just spending money....hence the diminishing returns.

Obviously a team that spends more is more likely to have better players. However the argument was essentially that those three teams having a higher playroll means they're better.

In any case, it doesn't matter. Bradley playing for a better team is worth more than losing to United, City, and Chelsea twice a year.

O'Neil is a proven manager with success in europe, he has done more with less most the times, di canio is no were near the manager he is yet.

Bradley won't really be in the first choice midfield of De Rossi - Strootman - Pjanic. However, he will get a lot of playing time since he's probably starting when any one of those three are out.

However, if Roma gets an offer for him anywhere in the neighborhood of €15m, Bradley will enjoying tea and crumpets and Radja Nainggolan Bucotini all'Amatriciana.

I wouldn't say that Bradley's been "jerked around" as he's had every opportunity last season and in preseason and has so far been very solid but probably not quite good enough to solidify a starting spot. No shame in that as it's pretty stiff competition with the guys mentioned above. He's still shown he's good enough that he figures to be key player on a team with CL ambition.

Roma's not having a fire sale--the money from the 3 players sold is being used to buy replacements -- but there is a massive roster overhaul going down. Still not sure what to think until the window closes. . .

This is just crazy talk. I'm as pissed as anyone that Juve seems to add 3 superstars a summer on frees or bargain basement forced deals. But, they do. While I don't think they would walk through the EPL, if you look at the quality of their roster, one could well argue that not many EPL Champion Man Utd players, aside from Van Persie, would easily break into their starting lineup.

Just because Pirlo came on a free doesn't mean he's not as good as Gareth Barry.

No, he's not. MON has succeeded as a manager in many situations (2 League Cup Championships with Leicester, UEFA Cup Final and domestic treble with Celtic, keeping a shite Villa team up for years, keeping Sunderland up in '11). Di Canio was decent with Swindon. Is that an upgrade?

But they have played better at the end of last season and this year than they ever did under O'Neill.

Did you see the end of '11? Also, did you see this year's Southampton and MK Dons (less possession at home than a fricking League One side) matches?

If your MON comments hadn't already solidified that you were a moron, the above just did.

A. QPR's paid more for their current squad than Juve did for theirs. Does that make QPR better?

B. Juve's keeper, defense and midfield are better than any of those on the three clubs you mentioned.

C. Why does City not have a UCL title?

What's weird about ^^this^^ is that most on this board would agree with your later comment about the EPL & Bundesliga.

So I am confused to where all these so called: "Euro hipster douche soccer figs." If the board is filled with them and most would agree with you, on what you have implemented as the dividing line between EHDSFs & Non-EHDSFs, wouldn't that make you a EHDSF?
