“I didn’t necessarily look at it as so differently than normal other than now you’re playing with a guy in Kyle who does a good job of being disciplined and taking care of things in front of the defenders,” Bradley said. “It means that I’m able to have a little more freedom, have the ability to be a little more two-way and be more up-and-down. It’s certainly something I enjoy.”

Sounds like he prefers playing with Kyle to playing with Jermaine.

Also, Mexico's coach heaped praise on MB90.

I wonder what Beckerdreads does when he retires, become a white Bob Marley tribute artist?

For whatever reason this comment inspired me to google 'Kyle Beckerman weed' and this thread came up.

Beckerdreads thread from March 2013
It's crazy how our attitude toward this team has changed in just a year.

As long as he's not trying to spray 30+ yard balls around the field, he's a decent enough passer for this level.

Will always prefer Edu to him in that position, though.

I shouldn't speak in absolutes

Of course he does. Discipline is far more important than athleticism in the DM role. Bradley is the best player on the team and the offense runs through him. If he doesn't have the freedom to go forward because he's having to cover for the other CM, the whole team suffers. It baffles me that Jones is still a first choice at that spot.

I've warmed up to him too. But it still scares the hell out of me thinking about Gotze, Ozil, Reus, etc. running at he and Omar if Bradley gets caught too far forward. It would be a bloodbath. I agree athleticism is a little overrated when it comes to playing in the holding role, but that depends on who you are going up against. If only JJ could learn to sit back in front of the CBs and fricking stay there. And stop kicking people when he gets beat. We need Bradley further up the field at much as possible.

There are very few defenses where these guys coming at you are being stopped on a consistent basis.

Germany is loaded and it will be a great test.

I understand why Jurgy wants JJ on the pitch, but like it's been said, it hurts the team overall. There's no question JJ is a better overall player than Beckerdreads, but it's pretty apparent Bradley plays better with Becks. It helps our offense, hurts our defense. Bradley is so good if he's attacking we become so much more potent, but if he stays planted in front of the CB's, we then become better at defense. I just wish JJ could stay more defensive minded because he's athletic and aggressive enough he can be utilized, but he wants to get too far forward and not let Bradley control things.

Here's a good explanation on Jermaine's faults when he is paired with Bradley. It's already been stated here, but the charts show just how ineffective Jones is when he tries to push forward.

I would prefer Cameron there if we didn't need him at RB, or possibly CB.

I think we are underestimating how valuable Jones could be against elite competition in the World Cup and overestimating Camerons ability at DM based on one performance he had there.

Did you ever see Cameron play CM for the Dynamo? He was awesome.

Cameron's natural position is CDM and he prefers it to RB and cb but does what he's asked. If chandler could get back in the picture we could put Geoff at the back of the diamond and it would probably be quite effective.
