I want more throat rips. Sadly Twellman is correct in that for the majority of the casual soccer fans this will be forgotten by next week, if not by days end tomorrow.

And whats driving me crazy about this isn’t that I thought this team was any good, or that as currently constructed they would have done anything of importance in Russia , but the US finally had a star in Pulisic that could inspire the younger kids in a way that no one else has to this point, and that opportunity has been squandered. Which is what Twellman was also speaking to.

TT said something last night that I have been thinking for a while:

In big soccer nations, when the players are poor/under perform they are roasted. They are held accountable.

Here, our players are so soft, they can't take any criticism without running to Twitter to argue with fans or tweet out passive agressive remarks basically saying "kiss my arse".

If you cant hold up to the scrutiny of being on the USMNT then you don't belong there.

Like TT said last night, we are a decade past the point of "the gloves are off", it's time to hold these players accountable. and if they can't take criticism then gtfo and find a professional that can.

Bob saying our MLS players have no pressure at home to perform but abroad they know their job is really on the line which stops them from getting call ups.

Bradley going to MLS was such a mistake

Your first point: spot on, that is so true.
I am an idealist, and I want to believe that MLS can sustain a competitive USMNT, but this cycle has changed that. The guys are just a step behind.

Yes, I watched every game MB played for Roma and lots of his Chievo matches. MB now is a shell of that player, very sad.

The MLS fricking sucks. It's a minor minor league that should never be relied on to produce good players

It's depressing.

He's completely regressed.

I kinda got the feeling from Max and Taylor last nite that there was some underlaying pressure on the media to be positive about us soccer, like maybe there was an overall strategy in place to prop the team up towards relevance.

Never really thought about it before, perhaps its been obvious for years, but when lalas has really been the only major talking head that has taken shots at the players over the years, giving him a kinda maverick persona when reallly hes been the only one really doing his job, its alittle eye opening.

That is an astute observation.

Trying to keep tv ratings up with false hype instead of actually being honest about the shite play on the field. I can totally see that with given the amount of money invested by the networks.

Bretos was so much better when he was on fox soccer channel.

The people they had, would of caused a nuke war, they would of been on blast mode from the end whistle, and still going at it. Now fox soccer channel is more corporate, professional than before, where you had some shows and these guys would rail on US Soccer when it needed it.

If you didn't see Colin Cowherd's rant, it's also worth your time.

Forgive me for being incredibly skeptical. At least Bob, Taylor and Max cover the sport.

I hear you on Colin, but he's pretty open about being a recent soccer convert. He's a big USMNT fan and has a man crush on Pulisic like the rest of us.
