This is part of the problem. US Soccer lets themselves gets fricked by CONCACAF when it comes to junk like tv deals. All 12 people in the nation with Bein saw this game. Twellman was right, it's time for the gloves to come off. US soccer needs a systematic change. We have the power, we're just not using it right.

I watched it on Univision with Spanish announcers. I was able to decipher that panama went ahead in their match but other than that I don't know what was said. I imagine Mexico City tonight is like Iran was on 9/11.

We host every Gold Cup. Mexico, the second most powerful nation in our confederation, plays as many damn games as they can get away with on our soil. And you're telling me we can't air our away games on a channel where they will be seen?

1. The hosting federation has the tv contract.
2. The game was on TV. Upgrade your cable or learn how to stream games.

And that mentality is why US Soccer sucks.

Wtf are we supposed to do about concacaf giving TV rights to the home team? Y'all are downvoting George, but he's right.

There needs to be rules in place to make the host nation sell the rights to whatever broadcaster in the other nation wants them. I'm blaming our federation for letting themselves get into this situation in the first place.

This pisses me off the most. What would it take for stadiums to turn them down? Could it come down to US Soccer telling the stadiums if you host a Mexico friendly with simeine other than the US we will not consider your stadium for both Men's and Women's games.

You think USSF has any control over what CONCACAF does in the end?

Why do you think this is a problem? It brings in money and is more options for Americans to see quality live soccer.

I get your last point, but the Germans aren't playing a friendly against the Faroe Islands or San Marino at Wembley or Hillsborough. Could you imagine the English reaction?

Having your own sports network cover your biggest rival as if it were your own national team and allowing said rival to play multiple games per year in your country's stadiums is pathetic and embarrassing.

I may be wrong, but treating the Mexican team as if were a second national team makes it easier for Mexicans here in America to follow the Mexican team and remain loyal to them instead of pulling for the team of the country in which they reside.

The Mexicans do it because there is a large market of fans in the US. There isn't a large population of Germans in England who fill up a stadium. If there was I doubt Wembley would turn down the gate and concessions money.

I love being downvoted by the ignorant. The game was on fricking TV. Hell I watched it on DirecTV on a United Airlines flight from Chicago. Pretty sure if i can watch it 38,000 feet high than it was available to the masses.
