the fact that Drogba already had a yellow and avoided a second by the referee not seeing his midfield hand ball.

Mi thoughts exactly. Chelsea had them figured out, and most Barça players were playing below potential, especially Messi. Don't know if it would have made a difference.

Even then, Barca hit the post four times over the course of the two legs, and if they finished half of the chances they missed, they would have won easily. The reality is that when Puyol is playing as your auxiliary LB, and Mascherano has to man up to a striker of Drogba's caliber, then there are issues of depth. They need to buy some players like Thiago Silva and Jordi Alba to give them some real defensive options. They also need to quit isolating Messi so much. He can't win games by himself. Build the team around him by giving him more options to combine with. They are having serious issues with width that plays into the oppositions hands.

The solution is named David Villa, and he's hurt.

I just hope (really big fricking hope) that Jozy Altidore starts using his body like Drogba.

That would help, but one would figure a team like Barca would have more than ample attacking talent. Perhaps letting Bojan go was a tiny mistake.

Does this prove that Barcelona couldn't win at Stoke?

That's nothing compared to the 86-14 ratio in the Barca-Inter game from two years ago.

God Save the Queen

Rule Brittania (Stadium)!

Ruler of waves (of Barcelona)!

Britons (teams) never shall be slaves

If only for a few more days.

(Until Real Madrid or Bayern deeply embarrass a team full of Chelsea reserves, and the inevitable INANE AND COMPLETELY RIDICULOUS league comparison threads pop up).

I'm pointing a finger at both sides of that argument. I personally believe the BPL fans are completely ignorant of teams 3-20 in La Liga, and that Dandy Lion has never seen an awe-inspiring football match between Aston Villa and Wolves.

So was I if you read the thread. The only thing that got me all hot and bothered was claims that Bilbao were better than United because they beat United.
