Cool, now even the USL is putting expired goods on the marquee.

I really hoped we had gotten away from the euro style of naming teams

I mean, they signed Dani Rojas

Also of note, the Jurgen Klinsmann all-stars of Luis Gil, Miguel Ibarra and Ventura Alvarado are all currently in USL League One.

Why? Did they give him ownership stake or something?

I saw that, but I thought that was more for him than the league, if I was financially set, and had the ability, I'd like to play meaningful soccer again.

Little Pea made like 100 million and played across Europe, if he's not getting ownership shares, go get in the booth for Telemundo

Yeah seriously I can't believe owners ever gave in to the Eurosnobs & online trolls & did away with so many great, original team names.

When do we get Turn-und Sportgemeinschaft (TSG) Milwaukee??

Edit: fuhgettabout it. Just bring back Stix, Baer and Fuller F.C.

Let's throw a United on there too, even though no clubs merged.

New Orleans is gonna end up with something like "North Central Gulf Coast Amerigen A.F.C." and will have people chanting "It's called Soccer!"

I’m reading a book about US soccer history right now and some of the early club names were hilarious. One was the catholic school boys abstinence only club

Proceeds to build the team in Garland that’s just as remote and removed from DFW proper as FC Dallas.

That is not helping the reputation of this board!

I like some of the old NASL names, LA Aztecs, Boston Beacons, Montreal Manic, but they also had some absolutely horrific names.

In the mid 90s New Orleans had a USL team that was the Riverboat Gamblers. I either won a raffle or sold the most of a fundraiser and got to go on the field at half time and shoot a PK. I made it and won a Gamblers 90s rope hat and Gatorade Watermelon t-shirt that was my prized possession until I outgrew it.

I thought they were playing in the Cotton Bowl now because the Garland stuff fell through?

The old NASL names were pretty
interesting. Philadelphia Fury,
Chicago Sting, etc… look up the Colorado Caribou uniforms if you
want to see what the late 70’s were like.
