Instead of playing in the new NFL stadium why not build a soccer stadium where the Georgia Dome sits?

Not sure what they're doing with the Dome...

ETA: Tearing it down.

From today's SI article...this explains how they'll address attendance.

quote:

It’s unclear whether Blank’s MLS team would launch in 2017 or join the league earlier and play in a temporary home. The new stadium is being designed with a wide, soccer-friendly field and MLS locker rooms. It also may feature a secondary retractable roof system that will cover the upper tiers, leaving approximately 27,000 seats available for league games. The Vancouver Whitecaps use a similar configuration at BC Place.

Love this idea.

The Latin American transplants and Euro transplants will support it.

There is a reason that there have been exhibitions in the GA dome for the last fee years...

Understatement.

I've argued that they actively hated their fanbase.

I hope this means we could get more national team games in the South.

The best thing that ever happened to Sporting KC was when HSG sold them to a group that actually gave a damn about the team.

But to be fair, Clark Hunt has finally shown a bit of initiative in the past offseason with the moves he made for KC.

I wish CH would f-ing sell FC Dallas to somebody who cared more about winning instead of letting his college soccer coach continue to suck arse.
