We live in an information age, meaning that patience is at a premium. This plays into soccer big time. No TV timeouts, no 2 minute warning. The younger people don't want a delay in action.
Watching any NFL game that doesn't involve the Saints is like watching paint dry to me. For the younger crowd it must be even worse without an emotional attachment.

I am able to enjoy just about any sport, but college football is the biggest example of "won't you just end already" going. Even watching LSU I find myself thinking, "frick, it's only halftime?!?!"
A soccer match is over just as soon as it begins and I'm glued the whole time. Granted, some games can be boring as all frick, but in those cases at least it's over in just under 2 hours!

Yep. First quatrter and an hour has gone by with about 5 minutes of actual plays.

Yeah, I really enjoy big college football games but since I've gotten DVR I pick 1 or 2 games a weekend to watch where I can forward through the 2 hours of commercials.

I dunno. The Silverbacks get really good attendance and they're just an NASL team.
I wish that Atlanta would get on board with more pro sports. I hated when the Thrashers left.

A savvy ownership, such as one run by Arthur Blank, will take advantage of that. If MLS wants to be a national sport, it needs to be in the South, and the capital of the South is Atlanta.

So is Blank going to take over the Silverbacks or start a team from scratch? It would be easier to take over the Silverbacks since they already have some resources to use.

One of the worst ownership groups ever. Arthur Blank is no Ted Turner, but he's a hell of a lot better than Atlanta Spirit and Liberty Media.

The Silverbacks are a pretty good NASL team, bt aren't exactly an MLS quality team.
