Le prof needs to start chamakh rather than bendtner. he keeps the ball better, moves the play faster, has a more aerial presence, works harder for the ball and helps in defending set pieces. bendtner is a better mover off the ball and a better shooter but his touch and judgement ruins a lot of well kept possessions. chamakh hasn't been starting with fabregas, nasri, wilshere and arshavin on the pitch and this has ruined his chances.

Anyone else nervous about the replay?
Almunia in goal, no Walcott, Cesc, RVP, Song, or Koscielny.
I just can't believe Arsenal have put themselves in this situation. 5 games in two weeks, and they are without their starters and couldn't even rely on backups to defeat a sub par opponent in the FA cup draw.
I know Arsenal only play Sunderland, West Brom, and Blackburn in their next few Premiership matches, the first being without Cesc, RVP, and Walcott, and the second without RVP and probably Walcott. I just can't stand seeing the March collapse like typical Arsenal, where we bow out of all competitions due to injury and poor performance.

Barca is going to be short-handed as well. Looks like Puyol won't be ready, Pique is suspended and Valdes looks to be unfit. We are still the decided underdogs, but that is why the matches are played on the pitch.
CATALAN CATASTROPHE!!!

Miquel is on first-team duty again. Wonder if he starts. Aneke and Ozyakup trained with the first team this week but I guess didn't make the cut. Would have liked to see Aneke get a chance, but oh well.
We should be able to beat Leyton with our B squad at the Emirates.

Go Rangers!
And I don't care who Arsenal's missing. I want to see blood on the pitch at Emirates today. At least 3 goals.
Please?

that's great news, but you still hafta feel like we're at the steepest disadvantage of the two sides.
Beowulf is going to have to score at least one goal like he did last year against them. Or Chamakh, whoever Wenger selects. I think it will be Nicky. He has a ton to prove with RvP out for likely a month.

I said in my post that we are still the decided underdogs. This just makes it less so.

Yeah that helps but doesn't put us over the top yet. Xavi was knicked up wasn't he? I wouldn't mind him being out too.

Hopefully someone gets bitten by a bat in todays match.

Umm Young Guns is saying reserve midfielder Conor Henderson and Ignasi Miquel are starting. This match could be interesting.

I have a pit of hopeless anxiety in my stomach about our next 3 matches. #GoodbyeOptimism

Team from YG:
"Confirmed: Miquel and Henderson start. TEAM: Almunia; Eboue Squillaci Miquel Gibbs; Diaby Denilson; Bendtner Rosicky Henderson; Chamakh."
Eta: 10 new starters from CC final and our worst starter from that match keeps his spot. Nice.

Supposedly a good passer, though I could be getting him confused with someone else. Let's hope he doesn't turn out like Mark Randall.

Bendtner looks horrid today, regardless that he has scored 2 goals, the second being a very clinical strike no less. Guy just somehow puts it together when needed and slots one home, goal scorers touch. He's the kind of guy who will mess up 9 out of 10 times but luckily for us that 10th is a goal.
Hopefully he can keep this up because Arsenal without RVP for an extended period of time need him and Chamakh to step up, especially since Arsenal play physical sides in the EPL the next few fixtures.

All Gooners need to watch the video interview on soccernet with Beowulf and Eboue. Beowulf is awaraded a bottle of champagne for being man of the match and Eboue tries to take it from him.

How did Henderson and Miquel look?

I didn't get to watch. I caught Wegner's post match interview on soccernet and he mentioned that Henderson played "very well" for his first time out. Soccernet has three videos about the match.

Eboue is quickly becoming my favorite Gunner.
