And not very old either.
We'll have to buy two RB's soon since Sagna and Eboue are kinda old. Eboue would be starting at RB for most teams. He's a good back-up though he's prone to retardation.
We don't have any in the academy, unless one of Frimpong, Coquelin, or Eastmond becomes a right back, which could certainly still happen, as not all three are going to make it at DM.

I want van der Wiel. Probably a pipe dream though.

Sagna
Isn't really old, just has played at a high level, so mileage is a more apt description. IMO he has been our most consistent player all season. I love Sagna.

If Gary Neville is any indication, we have eight more years with Sagna.

Van Persie had his knee scanned. Reports saying he is now a "major doubt" to play at the Nou Camp.
Can Arsenal ever get a fricking break?

Apparently not. I guess I'd rather have Chamakh start at the Camp Nou then. Holds up the ball better. Better work rate. Then if we need a goal, bring on Nicky...
Is Theo supposed to be fit? I can't remember.
This season sure looks like its going to be as disappointing as the last few...
Also: TV5 apparently suffered another setback. Was supposed to play in a Reserves match tonight, but will not.

Not looking good.

He just needs to rest and give up any attempt at playing this season.

Yeah, I don't know how bad this setback was, but even if he played in a reserve match in a weeks time, it probably take him another month to get back into form and fitness. Not sure he'd do us a lot of good coming back this season. By that time in April I'm sure we'll only be gunning for 2nd place in the league. We won't have the busy fixture schedule we've had recently.

Yeah on Sunday we officially hit Arsenal's infamous, and unofficially titled, Forlorn February.
That's the time of year when we're jockeying on the cusp of several competitions and then they one by one start slipping away due to injury and inexperience or simply playing a superior side as the quality sharpens (anticipating another Messi-rape).
(credit to crazy4lsu for the play on words)

Sweet. I stole it for my sig.
We need Chamakh to return to his early season form and run his himself into the ground at the Nou Camp. His workrate makes up for his sloppy finishing to a degree, and we have to hope that Nasri, Fabregas and Arshavin are up for it.

Oh lord, Arshavin tracking back to keep Alves in check... I'm scared.
As good as Nasri is, Walcott's pace was giving their LB fits.
I can live without RVP even though he is playing great, but not having Walcott is a blow on both wings.

Arshavin actually hasn't been that bad in tracking back since the turn of the year. He nearly gave away that penalty tracking back to keep Alves in check.

RvP out 3 weeks according to Arsenal dot com (which we all know means 4-6). Rules him out of the FA Cup tie with Man U as well.
And thus Arsenal's season ends,
Not with a bang but a whimper (a whimper that RvP made when he kicked the B'ham dude while scoring a goal)

In Arsenal injury speak it could be 3 months. FML.

You pessimists are starting to annoy me. We did just fine without RVP during the fall. I'm not saying I'm happy to have all of these players injured, but we have one of the deepest rosters in the world. What odds would you give us to pick up a trophy this year? 30-40%?

Definitely not that high. We're not in the quarters of the FA Cup yet, we still have an incredibly hard game to play at the Nou Camp and we're four points behind Man U with 11 games to go. The best chance in my opinion is winning the PL.

Chamakh was scoring goals at a career record pace in the fall. That's non-existant. Also, with all due respect, we weren't doing that great without RvP...had to qualify for the knockout rounds on the last day and were second in the easiest group. Couldn't beat underwhelming efforts from Liverpool, ManU, and Chelsea in the fall. Also, we have to beat or draw with Barca at the Camp Nou (better than anyone we played sans RvP) to stay alive in the CL and have to beat ManU at OT to stay alive in the FA Cup. We wouldn't be favored in either of those matches with RvP. Without him and with Walcott and Fabregas' health issues, there isn't much to be optimistic about.
And as for our depth, maybe on paper, but have you seen our efforts against Leyton Orient, Huddersfield, and others when our B team plays? Our best hope is the league. Maybe Chelsea can help us out today.

My heart says that number, my head says 15-20%.

So the official word is RvP and Walcott out for Barca, Fabregas "possible." Maybe Beowulf can come through for us!
