Good point...I see him starting in Brazil. Who do you think will be playing next to him, Rodwell?
I wouldn't mind seeing Gerrard retire from international competition, at this age his body doesnt need all the extra games...

Rodwell would be the likely guess. He did very well in the one game I've seen him in this season. I suppose there is an outside shot that Charlie Adam could ascend in the ranks, but he's got a long path ahead of him to start getting call-ups.
Also, Carrick, Barry, and Hargreaves need a replacement in the pure DM role. They were all very good in their heyday (though presently Barry makes you forget his Aston Villa form). Now there is no wrecker in good form for England.

The current problem with England is that they're a bunch of pussies. Germany goes into matches against England knowing that England is going to
.
If JB is allowed to play (pending his parole stipulations) he would just take out Jesus, look like the scapegoat, and then lead England to victory.

I'm going the Hendo root and embracing the embarrassment that JB brought down upon the Gunners this past weekend. You could say that I'm temporarily worshipping the Devil. To that I would say yes, but I also think that Messi might, MIGHT score against Stoke on a rainy Tuesday night.

nice, I think the last line sums it all up tidily:
He missed only 2 passes and I think won all but one tackle. Not impressive in any game changing sense, as it's already been said, but I think he will be quietly ushered along as a deep lying threat, and may well move up further along the hierarchy of attacking responsibilities in the next few years.
John Cross' match report
“It was an interesting debut for Wilshere,” he said. “It is a little too early to decide my line-up [for the Euro 2012 qualifier in Wales next month], but it was a good game for him.”
Villa striker Darren Bent poached England's equaliser in the tenth minute from a Theo Walcott cross - even though the Arsenal winger admitted that a cut near his left eye meant he could not see where he was playing the ball!
some other Arsenal news:
we're interested in Brazilian youngster Ganso
Nasri makes Sam "Socrates of Football" Allardyce's team of the season (so far)

Wilshere’s performance was not sensational - maybe that goes with playing deep in midfield – and he is still young and inexperienced. However, it was an encouraging full debut for his country, and ignoring the fact that Capello only used him for 45 minutes, this was the right way for Wilshere to be used.

I thought Walcott played about as well as he ever has for England (outside of the Croatia match) yesterday. He did very well.
Excited to watch Arsenal on ESPN3 Saturday. We need to put the Newcastle debacle behind us. Any word if Song will be back Saturday?

Wenger is positive that Djourrou and Song will be fit for Wolves. Yessssss
Also, reports coming out that Adriano and/or Milito will be in defense for Barca for the first leg. I.e. no Puyol. That's huge news for our chances.

Playing defense? Aren't these two strikers, and not even on Barca?
I knew Puyol was fighting a nagging injury and might not make it back for the first leg, which is great for us.

It's Gabriel Milito and some other guy named Adriano, not the Inter strikers.

Did Abidal get injured in the Brazil friendly or something?
Posted on 2/11/11 at 4:57 pm to Stewie Griffin
One can only hope. Would be nice for them to reciprocate the injury situation we had last year.

No Puyol and perhaps no Abidal.... gives us atleast a punchers chance on Wednesday. I can't fricking wait.

Walcott really opened them up last year and now that Abidal is out it will be interesting to see what they do to negate the Walcott threat. I'm going to have to skip class Wednesday. I just am.
Edit: I have a job interview at 2:15 Wednesday
