Some blogger suggested that Ignasi Miquel (reserve CB) could see some action in the next week. He was on the bench for the FA Cup, but may he's just there as a worst case scenario, plans fell through option.

He's the captain of the reserve team. Maybe he's alright.

Supposedly he's a big fellow as well, around 6-3 or 6-4. Some people on Arsenal boards rate him highly, but I've never actually watched him play. We might as well bring Bartley back if we're going to rely on youth.
I'll be very disappointed if we don't bring in someone. If we have to rely on Song as a CB, and then bring in Denilson at DM, we will be in trouble.

I dont want campbell back. i would like a more permanent solution. I hope mertesacker is just saying he wont come so he doesnt piss off the fans. i would like cahill too
Koscielny and Squillaci just have too many problems
this is the only video i found of Ignasi Miquel so far. The first half he is number 3 playing left back and the second half he is number 6 playing left centerback

Thanks for the video. I also watched the one with his interview. Looks to be a good prospect with some very good technical ability.

Seeing a lot of rumors on the interwebz that Arshavin might get sold to Juventus. Only way that would happen imo is if we were to get Hazard. I'd go for that swap right about now...

Honestly, that would be pretty sweet. Hazard with our group of young players would be amazing.

Matthew Upson back to Arsenal?
Upson sucks. Would be a terrible signing imo.

Agreed upson would be a terrible signing. hope samba comes to arsenal and certainly not the overrated cahill. somehow i feel a DM would be a better signing than a CB at the moment.

Whew... Scott Parker is not fit to play tomorrow apparently. #WeNeedAllTheHelpWeCanGet

sanchez watt on target today for leeds.

And that's why he needs to be our #1. Perfect form there. Looks like he's been practicing his floor routine.

His distribution was a lot better yesterday. It also helped that they let us play from the back. I'd like for him to become our number 1 because confidence would never be a problem for him, unlike Fabianski, who is one mistake away from being shitty again.
In other news, we need a CB badly.

Jeez, feel like I'm watching the Saints doctors misdiagnose another injury. Also, is one tiny tendon next to the Achilles really that big of a deal? I feel like you could get a shot and play through some inflammation and irritation.

Szczesny isnt matured enough to become the starter yet.
he still plays out of position a good bit. He hasnt really been tested all that much
he doesnt do a good job on these 2 plays here
1
And this goal, it looked off and the defense screwed him, but his dive is terrible. if youre interested theres a good angle at 1min mark. when i saw it in real time i just thought what the f was that it looked like a miserable flop to me
2
He makes some poor decisions (see handling outside the box against ipswich) and his play out the back isnt great
i know i sound like i hate him but i like Szczesny he just needs a few more games under his belt
Fabianski and Szczesny are only getting better game to game. Fabianski has been a good bit more consistent which is good and hopefully well get rid of almunia.
Also....
I think that a good cb signing could be the difference between some silverware or going home empty again. Hopefully Wenger will splash the cash and pick up a decent cb sooner than later.

I see what you're saying, but here's my belief. Szczesny has yet to do anything that has forced anyone to say, "Damn you! That goal was your fault!" Fabianski has improved, but he's still had multiple moments like that this season. As for distribution, Szczesny needs to work on that, but Fabianski kills me because he hangs on to the ball for 10 seconds after he catches it. That's what I used to love about Lehmann and Almunia (the only thing I loved about him). Those guys would utilize our pace and distribute it quickly. Particularly with Theo in our side, I'd like to see our GKs do more of that. At least the youngster tries to do it, even if he isn't there yet.
I do agree he needs more games under his belt. So let's give them to him.

I guess you're right. I don't really have great confidence in fabianski. I'm just sick of having that dreadful feeling when a team gets in our defensive third. And I don't think szczeney will be an immediate answer to all our problems in that regard. He just hasn't matured enough but in time he'll be good I think.
