I read a rumor on fox soccer about Arsenal being interested in Malouda. I don't see that happening, though.

I think that Park feller is meant to be our second striker signing, unless your wishlist includes another guy as well.

analysis from a journalist who contradicts my speed link above, maybe his long legs just give him an appearance of a lumbering gait? LINK:
•mertesacker: very calm centre-back whose style is based on intelligent positional play; anticipates, reads the game extremely well
•so much so that he rarely goes to ground tackling, consequently hardly ever gets booked, just 9 yellow cards in 221 bundesliga games (!)
•conceptually mertesacker strikes me a fine match to vermalens more aggressive and dominating style
•decent on the ground despite the huge size (198 cm +/-), keeps it simple, knows his own limitations.
•mobility (lack of) is obviously a worry, game reading can obviously compesate to a certain extent but very hard to predict how he'll adapt
•that said, he's very experienced (73 caps for germany) plus an intelligent guy, great character. werder bremen captain. may well work out.
