We need offensive minded difference makers, we can’t keep going on with a hope and a prayer every week

Look at Rice’s reaction

It was my exact reaction as well when he did this. Completely taking ourselves out of attacking situations. Much like Sterling trying to power dribble through 5 players in the box.

Even without Saka we are rt sided bias.

He could have played that to any of the 3 players on the left.

We need to go find more Martinellis or some shite. Or go get the player out of the championship before they go to another pl team then costs $60m+ after a good season.

Our recruitment at that level of football, the guys that cost 15M or less is fricking tragic.

Should have been buying guys like that for the last 3 years

It’s why I want them to get the DOF from Leverkusen, he’s got like a 75% hit on players he buys either making the team, or selling for a profit later.

If we’re going to have a bunch of guys who can’t finish anyway, why not go sign some pacey technical wingers & forwards and see if they can develop?

Instead we stick with Jesus, Trossard & Sterling

This team is cooked. May as well wait until the Summer to get better prices.

Could fall out the top 4.

If that happens Arteta has to go. His cycle will be up.

Kai havertz will be his downfall. You don’t spend that kind of money on a player without a position. I like Kai, but as an option. He’s not an every game player at any position.

And because of that, Mikel then went and got merino to replace him in the midfield. And he got push back from the club because of merinos age.

They also didn’t want Calafiori because we have enough defenders. Yesterday’s game had tierney, zinchenko and kiwior on the bench. So the club was right on this.

Mikel is going to have to own this.

quote:

While Arteta was convinced that Merino was the right fit, there were some high-level conversations among the Arsenal hierarchy about whether it was the right deal to do. The club recognised that adding 28-year-old Merino to a central midfield that already included Thomas Partey (31) and Jorginho (32) was not necessarily ideal.

quote:

This signing leaves Arsenal with some work to do over the coming windows. Given the respective ages of Merino, Partey and Jorginho — the latter two are out of contract next summer — Arsenal know an injection of youth will be required in the next couple of years. The club recognise that a more youthful midfield signing will have to arrive in the next couple of transfer windows.

They fricked up. You’ve brought in rice, havertz, Jorginho, merino, odegaard, vieria, lokonga. And still need more midfielders. And still need a goal scorer.

Pretty good thread analyzing our lack of central offensive threats. This is supposed to be a spot where Odegaard exceeds, but he’s not a good ball striker or carrier. Same can be said for Kai (who plays as a striker) and Merino as well. So we’re basically left crossing the ball into a box of 6+ defenders constantly because there is 0 threat in the middle.

I’d be nice if we were able to generate chances from these areas and Cause teams to loosen their low block a bit

Oh since that's so easy

I was firmly in the we will make top 4 easily about 2 weeks ago. I'm still confident we will make it, but it's slowly falling with these injuries.

January is going to be brutal

Orny confirming the Zubimendi stuff. That settles a midfield signing for Partey/Jorginho leaving.

Still need forwards

Villa got Rogers from the championship.

These players are all over the world.

Yeah they don’t all work out but younger cheap players are also easier to sell on.

Lee kang went to PSG for £18m just last year and now we have shown interest in him. Def an Arsene type am, but we need to be finding these players.

They talk about self sustaining model but don’t act like it. You are better off with a mediocre player under 20m vs one you paid over 40m for.

We would really benefit from the multi club model that everyone is moving to (I know we have the Rapids in MLS :lol) would allow the club to buy some of these players on the cheap and see if they can develop

Rumblings of a Vlahovic loan might be with option or obligation.

Hopefully just an option. Not sure I want to commit to him long term
