I said over the summer and ill say it again, we needed a forward.
Im about ready to end this experiment. We aren't going to win anything with Arteta.
Our big forward signing can't even get off the bench, what a joke. Jesus and Sterling are a complete waste of roster space.

I’ve been there for a few weeks now.
Theres about a dozen premier league teams that have better offensive attacks than us.
Unless we get individual brilliance from Saka or someone else on the front line, we are completely reliant on set pieces to score goals.
Maybe Edu was the problem with recruitment, or maybe it’s Arteta.
Unless we have a complete collapse, I’m fine with giving him 1 more summer window to fix the attack. We aren’t a serious club if you begin the next season with Havertz, Trossard, Sterling, Jesus, Martinelli and Saka has our attack players
We’ve spent hundreds of millions on Keepers, Defenders, and midfielders, and we still give up goals to shite teams on the regular.

And before anyone says anything, I am happy with where Arteta has brought us from, it’s just beginning to seem likely that he might not be the guy to take us to the next level.
The last few years, teams that play a mid block on us and basically ice out Odegaard, we generally lose, again, unless we see some individual brilliance from Saka, or score some set piece goals.
Bayern in CL, Villa, Porto, Fulham, just 0 attacking ability in most of those games

As good as Kai has been for us, he just aint it. We need a true #9 that isn't a goof like Kai. I don't see a move being made in January, but maybe they'll explore an option if the staff realizes what we have won't win us the league.
And of course Pool gets to avoid the away leg of the Merseyside this weekend while struggling with a few nagging injuries.

This is crazy talk to me. I think arteta is one of the best in the business right now. I feel we would be hard pressed to find someone better. Be careful what you wish for.
I do think the lack of a clinical forward is holding us back.

I think he’s the best in the business at playing 1 way, and to me that is the real problem.
We HAVE to control possession to score. We have got to be the worst counter/transition team in the world. A lot of it is because we don’t have any ball carriers.
As good as Odegaard is, he has a terrible right foot, and is very angle biased on the right side. If he was a proper 2 footed ball carrier, he could overlap Saka and allow Saka to drive inside (very much like a Mo Salah). Instead, most of our best offense revolves around Saka driving the byline with a cross or cutting inside and shooting or crossing to the back post.
On the LHS we leave Martinelli on an island and he has regressed a bunch in the last year or 2. Merino/Cala was supposed to help with that, but they’ve either been ineffective or injured.
We are entirely too one dimensional, and we’ve had 2 years since the “surprise” 2nd place finish to add offensive help. All we’ve done since then is buy midfielders/defenders/keepers and become more one dimensional.
I’m withholding full judgement to see if he can correct the error and had some serious attacking firepower in the summer. If he doesn’t, we’ll continue to be a top 4ish team because of Saka’s individual brilliance and a really good defensive structure, but never be able to get over the hump
I know this is all very doom and gloom, but the reality is, Man City has won 1 game out of 7 in the PL and we’re 2 pts ahead. Liverpool is aging, but are showing what a fresh approach with great players can do. Chelsea has spent about a billion dollars over the last 5 years starting to see the fruits of their spending. They are very young and are 2 pts ahead of us right now.
I know we’ve had some red cards, tough games and unfortunate injuries, but we aren’t progressing enough after spending 300M the last few windows
LINK
PL open Play xG through this weekend. There are 8 teams ahead of us, and 2 others close to us, not sustainable

No White, Tomi, Gabriel, Calafiori, Zinny, Timber or Partey at training today.
Tomorrow is going to be …. Interesting

Not sure there’s any other option. Doubt Arteta starts Lewis-Skelley

It's a shame him and Nwaneri haven't gotten more of a run. Would be really interested in seeing Nwaneri and Ø can do together

If we don't win this game, I may take a break for a few weeks.
Injuries have destroyed the season.
I would love to win the Champions League because at full health I don't think there is anyone who can break down our defense

Gabriel Jesus is so so bad at finishing now. Always been subpar but this is a new low. Holy shite.
This isn't that same dude that scored this goal against Leicester City in 2022:
