What are y’all’s thoughts on Rodrygo? Is he even that much of an upgrade from Martinelli?

Yes, he’s a better shooter & creator. Both of them would benefit from an overlapping LB though.

It would be good competition for both.
Rodrygos league numbers aren’t that great, maybe even less goals than martinelli but he plays from the right and is right footed.
But he’s scored 5 champions league goals for 4 straight seasons now. So 20 goals in the cl.
Martinelli has 4 total in the CL.

Not really. Ancelotti is choosing Martinelli for Brazil at the moment. Coached Rodrygo for years at Real. Think he knows more than a bunch of keyboard warriors. Plus, Martinelli's work rate makes even Saka's pale in comparison.

One thing about martinelli that stands out is that 15 league goals season.
No one we sign will have had a season like that.
Which is why I’d be pissed if we sold him, if we were trying to buy martinelli now, it would be 60-70m.
And that season he had xhaka and zinchenko on his side. Zinchenko didn’t mind doing some overlapping.

Younger is always better for sure but at this point, we just need dudes who can play in the PL. Norgaard is one of those dudes, and he would be a great piece to have off of the bench.
Plus at only $11m, still leaves plenty of budget elsewhere

I was just about to say. Incredible business in my opinion simply because you get 2 proven PL players for 16M. That is phenomenal business since we didn't overpay for guys who are not going to start on a regular basis. Really knocks out specific needs right away for us to focus on attackers going forward in this window. Bless up.

For sure. We pretty much have our starting core already in place (hopefully we at least bring in a forward), so these are great pieces to add to the depth. We need squad depth, no matter the age, for these next two campaigns. I think these next 2 years will say a lot about the direction of this club

I’d imagine the CF & LW are going to linger on for awhile.
We’ve needed proper cover for Saliba for awhile, I don’t hate it. Tomi can’t be counted on

Agree, like his profile, can play the 10 or the left. Morgan Rogers is another I’ve seen us linked to that would fit that same profile
