I think it’d be a huge mistake if Arsenal or Liverpool didn’t capitalize and get Rodrygo. He’s unreal on the LW

Board needs to get the attack right this year so we can win something next year.

Saka and Rodrygo on the wings would be nutty. Put a guy like Sesko or Gyokeres between them holy shite

Rumors of not extending Trossard, but increasing his pay, do NOT like that, this feels like the last year you have to make any money off of him.

Rodrygo

He and Leao aren't in the Arteta mindset of playing the entire field. Rodrygo wouldn't start over Martinelli in his system.

I think every player can be coached to do that, they just aren’t asked to most of the time.

But also, we’d be better off in the long run allowing at least 1 of the wingers to stay high so we can actually hit counters when teams push up that high against us.

I think we’ve proven that you can’t always rely on a good defense to win games, it can certainly keep you in games, but we have to have a more attacking mindset to put teams away

We just need more chaos in attack. It is amazing how MLS suddenly became important to our attack because he dared to carry the ball and dared to make incisive passes.

I've said it before, but if we combined Arteta's structure in the defensive and middle parts of the pitch with Wenger's attacking style in the final third, we would score so many goals a game.

He currently makes what, 90k/week? I think a small bump could be justified. Building and keeping depth for this next campaign is vital. Trossard off the bench is a great option.

Ideally, we'd have an attacking bench of Martinelli/new LW, Trossard, Havertz and Nwaneri.

Sounds like we could possibly get Zubimendi done in this current calendar year finances for FFP

Problem is, I think you need to sell him to fund that new LW.

No way you go into a season with that many wingers (Martinelli, New LW, Trossard, Ethan, Saka) AND Jesus coming back in the fall. When do you see Trossard playing over Martinelli/New LW or Ethan?

You’d be in a situation where one or more aren’t even making matchday squads outside of cup comps. If we are doing anything with Trossard, IMO it signals you are either selling Martinelli, or NOT bringing in a new LW

Unless they wait until Jesus comes back and move him or Trossard in the winter window. We’ll see I guess

I'm hoping we sell Jesus more than we sell Trossard, purely from an availability standpoint. He has shown he can play across the attack too, which is great to have from a bench option.

But I'm kind of hoping we start sliding Ethan inside to give Odegaard some rest throughout the season. As you can tell, I'm all for versatile options on the bench

I think we are at a point where we need more options on the bench, so buying starting caliber players to move some of our current options to the bench. We can't just assume we will magically have a healthy season.

There are ways to make the money work.

First thing is, with Spurs making it over united we get a bigger chunk of that CL money because we have the higher coefficient.

If they get the zubi deal done or any deal done very early, it can be counted as a last season transfer.

Also, if we arent doing the release clause, then we can pay these in installments.

Plus we will prob sell a couple of players. Zinchenko, tavares, nelson, viera.

Kai Havertz

i can see a situation where your midfield is Zubi and Rice and Kai is your 10 or second striker with our new striker signing.

I like Kai, but imo this was a huge mistake of a signing for what we paid. You can't just have him rotting on the bench. So he will be played up top and in the midfield. Its just how it is. And he restricts us from singing other players because he was a huge outlay.

shite, we might sign gyokeres for less than we signed havetz.

Havertz potentially playing SS is even more reason to question doing a new Trossard contract, IMO.

They’re reporting a deal is imminent. I agree he’s probably due a pay raise, but also, the low wages make him an ideal player to move at this point. I just don’t agree with giving a guy a raise that should see LESS minutes moving forward

Also, I’ve seen this get mentioned several times about Jesus being out till Christmas, didn’t he just tear an ACL?

Rodri tore his in September and played last weekend. Seems like he should at least be practicing again in September or so

Jesus is made of glass, so it wouldn't surprise me if he was out until Christmas of 2026

I saw november for Jesus and tomi just said end of 2025.

Reported today was...

Real Madrid will demand a €80 million (£67.5m) transfer fee from Arsenal for Rodrygo this summer, according to reports in Spain.

Anything close to this number I think we should jump all over it.

At this point we need to hoard attackers. Keep Troussard around if he is willing to play a bench role. He's a great option to have.

I’m just concerned that not moving him prevents us from bringing in the top flight LW we need to compliment Saka. Whether it be wages or cash flow on the books

Assuming that doesn’t effect anything, I’m all for him hanging around and starting early stage cup games and giving guys breathers, 100%

These last few windows not signing attackers has giving me PTSD. I saw a stat the other day that we are 60th in Europe for spending on attackers since like 2021 ($80M in total)
