I think we can spend 200M with basically no sales (other than for squad space). 250 with some sales and 300 if you sell a big ticket item

Not sure enough can be said about Jakub Kiwior. For him to step up and perform like Gabriel after some shaky performances this year (and last against Bayern)

And as always, MLS is an unbelievable footballer, and only 18 years old

The more time ticks by the more I fear it is Big Gabi

I hate to beat a dead horse, but Odegaard has been woeful since he came back from injury/sickness.

If you have an average level creator that can shoot with both feet in his spot, we probably have 3 goals by the 50’ mark. I hope it’s just a long rough patch, but man, it’s been not pretty

Pretty sure they’re close to an extension with him

With a new DoF, wouldn’t shock me to see Odegaard go. I think he was originally an Edu guy that Arteta transformed into what he is now

shite at this point I don't think I mind it. We gonna have too many midfielders anyways.

He has got to stop fricking overthinking everything

Looking to the PSG game, we surely can’t play Jorginho at the 6 in that game?

Not sure who it’d be. Rice? Who plays higher up?

Odegaard needs to score more.

But our midfield three bossed Real Madrid.

And we haven’t had these three starting all season.

Injuries to odegaard and partey playing several games at rb.

I don’t know if it’s as easy to just plug someone else in there and we become better.

This was our squad vs them in the group stage.

I’d imagine we might see some experimenting over the next few games.

I think we have to do Rice at the 6 in the first leg

Also, thought the ref was mostly superb tonight.

No chance we get the penalty we were given, and no way they overturn the other if PGMOL is in charge

Watching the highlights odegaard was heavily involved in that first goal.

Got the ball from Saka, gave it to rice, rice gives it back, then he passes to merino.

And one thing is for sure, you have to work your arse off to play in Arteta’s team. It’s why he sticks with Martinelli even without some production. Dude just goes hard.

Similar thing going with odegaard. And he did take a couple of shots later in the game. Not the best shots, but a little more of that and one will go in.

The only real issues with Odegaard is that he is terribly 1 footed and needs space to be effective.

Hes a great presser, runs a great 2 man and triangle games, and by all accounts a great leader. He just has no real room for growth, and it’s one of the few positions on the team that can be upgraded (maybe not upgraded, we just need a different set of skills there on occassion)

I think he’s fine in the majority of games we play, but the real physical teams you need someone that can operate with folks hanging on him, and be able to drive past defenders when they give you an inch of space. He just don’t have those things in his bag

I mean Arsenal is the analytics favorite to win the Champions League and sitting comfortably in second in the EPL with all time bad luck as far as injuries and officiating/game outcomes. Haven’t lost a game against another “elite” club in like two years.

You obviously can always improve but arsenal are by almost every metric comfortably a top 5 team in the world.

Point being, yes you can make a case individuals may be below their best and yes maybe could improve positions, but as assembled it’s hard to get much better. If you play this EPL season 100 times I think Arsenal is in first at least 50. All time fluke stuff in league play.

We don't stupidly low-ball Villa for Watkins and we're sitting in 1st right now

It’s 4 points and you still play the team in 3rd later on, the team that has owned you this season despite the massive amount of disrespect in this thread.

The queen died two seasons ago, and what did that have to do with Saliba’s injury?

But you’re right about one thing, Newcastle has owned us this year. We can’t break down that back 5 and Gordon and Isak have murdered us on the counter.
