I thought we played ok but the high line burned us. White offers very little going forward but then again Saka pretty much ignored all his overlapping runs. Sambi looked good again. We need to start taking more shots around the box instead of dribbling into the 6 yard box. De Gea is prone to gaffs so why not take the shots? I agree with the above that we need to sub earlier.

Our xG was 1.52 vs 1.47 for manure

We have to start finding the back of the net. We are creating all the chances you can ask for, we are just not converting.
Also, we have to figure out how to play against counter attacking teams with the talent United and Spurs posses. I like how we play so much he better then those two, but if we aren’t clinical, we are going to lose.

High line killed us and lack of finishing as well.
Sambi can get the job done until Partey comes back so I’m not real worried there.
Still top of the league. Adversity is good for a team, time to bounce back.

We went for the win rather than seeing out a draw was silly away from home. Lack of finishing vs top opponents will kill us if we don’t sharpen up. It bit us in the backside along with high line.

I think Mikal is the man for the job after watching All or nothing, and thinking about It. Just like the team he is young and will make mistakes but he is working his arse off, very knowledgeable, and committed. If they give him the players he will win.
I fully expect a top 4 finish this year and think that is doable but we are not ready to be champions yet, still a few players short in my humble opinion.

Yeah we could have just shut down and gotten the point but it’s hindsight. I too thought we were going to win once we got the goal. So I see how Arteta and the players felt the same.
But if you give the ball away you then just have to foul and break up the counter.
But if we play like we did Sunday against most of the league. We win all of those games. The only other team that will counter like that will be spurs.

quote:I understand this logic, and in previous years I would’ve agreed, but like dg said once we tied it up I fully thought we’d win it. I imagine the team did too. Cant fault em for wanting to get 3 points when previous Arsenal teams would’ve closed shop and parked the bus

I don't disagree. Perhaps my words were confusing and didn't come across as I meant. I like the go for it attitude especially since we were controlling the run of play for the majority. My point is we should have played with more awareness defensively (not that high of a line) and not so naïve to the fact that they would only score most likely was from the counter. I also noticed several times that our defenders on the backside of the play/ball were always focused on the ball and not the spaces or players behind.

Hopefully the start of a wonderful rest of September for us.
Hoping for a big win tonight then two solid home games against Everton and PSV.
Looking to build momentum and round it out with a win at Brentford. A little payback from last year.
Best case Scenario at the end of September:
Premier League - 1st with 7/8 wins.
Europa League - 1st in group with 2/2 wins.

Ready to see what Vieira and Marquinhos can do as well.

Solid rotation, only wish ESR didn’t have a knock and could give Martinelli a break.

Good win.
Nketiah and Marquinhos are going to feast in the Europa League.
Need to get some guys healthy also. ESR would do wonderful in this competition.

Not shocked they cancelled games, but definitely not happy about it.
I guess this can only benefit us with how many guys we have hurt. Can get some of them healthy. I'll take it in that regard very easily.
College Football it is this weekend!

I hate this. We were going to stomp Everton at home and stay top. Plus another home game with psv.
We are also letting other teams healthy, chelsea to fix problems, Liverpool to fix problems.
And if we make it late in Euro, we will be playing these games in crunch time in both competitions.
Won’t be surprised if next weekend gets canceled too.
It’s a fricking farce. Fill the stands and let people celebrate football and the Queen.
