Do y'all think £30m is too much for Mustafi?

Although admittedly i've never even see the guy play.

Not at all given the current market.

30 million for a 24 year old German international defender who has been tested in a La Liga? I would say the price is fair.

Completely agree, the market is what it is and right now £30m might be a bargain. This the cost of doing business in the EPL. If Stan K is not up to that he should have bought Aston Villa.

Yeah based on that limited video I'd say he's worth it.

The scouting report says he is able to play the high block and low block, as he can win everything in the air as well as pass it out of the back. That is something we need, as at times we have to do both, which is where you some of our defensive struggles.

Mustafi and Koscienly would be a formidable duo. Probably our best pairing at CB in a decade.

Breaking | Arsenal have made a €41m offer for Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez, according to tomorrow's L'Équipe.

Riyad Mahrez has now decided that he is willing to clash with Leicester in order to get a move to Arsenal, according to tomorrow's L'Équipe.

That last piece of information is a crucial shift in the player's strategy & the article is written by one of L'Équipe's top reporters.

Important to note that this is the most credible link of Mahrez to Arsenal from any report anywhere this window in our view so far.

Sorry for being ignorant but what is that source and is it actually a legitimate one? Is it a newspaper?

The first part isn't anything new, but him being willing to fight LFC for a move is news.

His performances of late show a bit of disinterest in staying at LC. It's in their best interest to cash in and move on.

Apparently one of the most respected French journalist. This just won't die today.

I would be very, very happy with a window of Xhaka, Mustafi, and Mahrez. Sanchez is a beast up top and Theo has had flashes this preseason. Add Giroud and Welbz if he gets healthy, plus Iwobi and we should be ok up top.

Agreed. And I think holding could be a great signing for the future. Those 4 would make for a great window. Specifically because we addressed needs.

Apparently Welbeck's most recent scan came back very positive. He could be back by January or February, as opposed to missing the entire season.

Speaking of Asano, he and Serge have looked very good in the Olympics. If Alexis is willing and able to play CF this year we may be okay at striker.

Also, sounds like we'll get Mustafi and there's more and more buzz around Mahrez.

A lineup of

Cech
Bellerin-Mustafi-Kosc-Monreal (frick, what a nice back line)
Xhaka-Ramsey
Mahrez-Ozil-Iwobi/Ox
Alexis

Would be stout. Or, Alexis left, Giroud up top.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but...
