Ox has been brilliant since moving to CM. He looks so comfortable. His future is definitely at CM in a 3 man midfield.
It feels like every time Wenger's put him there in a big game, dating all the way back to the UCL match against AC Milan in like 2012 (!!!), Ox has wrecked shite as a CM. I hope whoever is in charge next season can recognize that.

Look at Chelsea. They were dire last year and Conte has them breezing to the title this season with mostly the same squad. I think there is a decent foundation to work with. We will be without a top class player when Sanchez leaves but if we are smart about replacing him we can challenge to win things sooner rather than later.

That Chelsea squad won the league with majority of their current players before Conte shwed up..Arsenal has won a FA Cup...they haven't done shite to be compared to Chelsea IMO. I just don't see this team winning the league with these players.

I'm perfectly pleased with our first 55 minutes. We showed we can be very good with an organized system. It's frustrating we didn't play more like that against Liverpool.
I thought the red was bullshite and the no call on Theo's pen as well.
Hopefully we build a midfield around Xhaka that can succeed going forward. Ox and Ramsey looked very functional in front of him. Sell Ozil, throw the world at Alexis to stay and if not do the same for Griezmann.
I'd prefer Wenger stay on in a single role and we bring in either a coach or a sporting director so things aren't thrown into chaos when he leaves.

I think you are underestimating how much we are underachieving due strictly to Wenger. Chelsea are playing Moses and a guy who couldn't defend to save his life in Luiz and are cruising to the title. Is Moses better than Bellerin? Is Luiz that much better than Koscielny? I'm not saying we can win the title without some changes but the players deserve a chance to prove their worth under new management.

It's time. I hate to say it, but it's true. Wenger needs to come out now and tell the world what his intentions are so we can begin to move forward.
I agree with SG, that he should stay on in some form, but we need to bring in a new coach/manager to work with him.
I was able to watch some of the first half and thought we looked well, Ox Rambo and Xhaka was a really nice pairing IMO. I'm not sure where or if Jack will even fit in this team when they're firing.
Someone said we should sell Özil and do everything for Alexis-- yes, we should. But we should try our best to keep them both and resort to losing Özil if we have to lose one of them.
Man, we really need some new blood, both in players and club hierarchy. Because right now we are serial losers and this club is in shambles European wise.
The only shining beacon would be we can get a top 4 finish with a 3rd FA Cup in 4 years. But is that really that great...?
Alright, I've let some steam off lol

I want more physically and mentally tough players, too often they get completely bossed around on the field or collapse when things don't go their way.
Definitely want to see a new training system, a change to whatever it is that continues seeing players get injured, and suffer setback after setback once injured.

I might be stretching on a couple of these, but can all my fellow LSU fans appreciate (or despise) the parallel lines here?
Wenger :: Les -- Long-time successful coach undone by their own stubbornness
Kroenke :: Alleva -- Man in charge that seems liked by almost no one
Arsenal health :: good LSU QB play -- something that seemed like a pipe-dream under the head coach
Bould :: Orgeron -- obviously not but I swear to God if this happens I'll freak out

I liked the mid 3. But that set up usually means no ozil or putting him up top.
I haven't finished watching but that red card is just crushing yet seems to always happen.

how does Vidal not get carded for flying in reckless and putting his cleat into Alexis thigh, yet we are getting carded for petty shite.
Damn...
You got to do something. You could end up with players like bellerin wanting out. Players don't want to get embarrassed when you will have the likes of Barcelona calling.

I love Ozil. Have since his RM days. Was over the moon when we bought him.
But he's an absolute luxury player in England. There's a reason Cesc doesn't start at Chelsea. The modern Prem requires 11 players to defend. It requires defensive solidity and players who can run with the ball at their feet.
There's a reason we looked superb for 50 minutes tonight. Sure, Bayern were sloppy. But we pressured with all 11 and played a crazy high line.
I think we need to move to a midfield 3 permanently. Xhaka and Coq/Elneny are plenty of cover in the back. Ox, Ramsey, Jack, Iwobi, and a summer buy to play in the front two roles. We'll need to keep Alexis or buy another goal scoring wing.
If Ozil can play wide or in a midfield 3, then fine, but he has never shown me he can do those roles with Arsenal.

That's how I feel. I love him as a player, but that midfield three was great to watch. Ramsey and ox were full of that energy.

We need a change of coach, change of culture, or something.
Or else, we are headed to being a perpetual mid-table team.
