frick, this is frustrating.
I had a bad feeling all day about this game and it wasn't helped with the way we came out lethargic and a step slow.
Yeah, yeah, I know we've had a short week, but we knew going in a win would put us atop the table.
I guess this lineup has done well with the big CL win to get out of group and the win over MC. Ozil was bound to have a less-than-spectacular game sooner or later.
But our passes seemed careless and we were asleep on their counters. Yeah, that was probably a foul on Kos on that second goal, but our defense was just off today.
Great run of form by this lineup and Campbell and Flamini have done well filling in,but this particular group was bound to come back down to earth.
Our form has got to be better Monday against Bournemouth, even while resting some people. Ozil needs a break badly.
We need Alexis back in the worst way.
I'm tired of shitting the bed at Southampton.

Passing, movement, defense were all off. Energy was poor as well.
Long could have been sent off, the referee was crap for both sides, and none of their goals were 100% legitimate in my mind. Regardless of that, Arsenal never deserved a win, maybe not even a point.
It's one you put behind you and move on, but it's a shame since they could have gone top of the Table. Man City are hanging around, getting healthy as well, and have depth.

What really amazes me from this match is just how poorly the Center Backs played. Mertesacker really made a case of being dropped. One of the poorer performances from Kos that I can remember, Long had his number all match.

What a shite performance...not even mad..they deserved everything they got this match

Absolute garbage match. We've had some real head scratchers this year, basically all of our losses have been to crap teams

Which is why they are probably a better bet to win it all than we are. This is the year to win it. Chelsea, ManU, and even City to an extent all in down years. If Arsene doesn't go out and buy in the winter I'm going to be so, so frustrated with him. It would be inexcusable.

I agree. Although he's played decent this year. He just has a lot of head scratcher moments where he loses his positioning and doesn't have the speed to catch up, obviously. And the clearances have been bad. Until we get Coq back we need to go with faster CBs, since Flamini is so gd slow. I would gladly take Gabs over Per at this point.

It was a foul and could have been sent off. Doesn't matter, they beat Arsenal in every phase of the game. It sucks, this is just typical Arsenal going on 11 seasons now.

Good news is apparently we've signed Mohamed Elneny, a DM from Basel. Jeremy Wilson is reporting it, as is the biggest Egyptian football outlet (he's an Egyptian international).
This video makes him look like a bright prospect.

Just so long as he's better than Flamini, especially more athletic, then I'm happy with a move.

He looks much more fluid than Flam. And far more skilled on the ball.

I have no issues with flamini, he plays hard. he was supposed to just be a 1 year stop gap. This is all on Arsene. It sucks because I just don't see to many managers better that are available, but if he doesn't win the league this year, it's all because of his stubbornness/ arrogance. Such a shame.

Apparently Elneny is more Ramsey than Coq. Covers a ton of ground. Plays deeper than Ramsey but likes to break forward and has a shot on him
I'm not worried about this team at all. We are still the title favorites. Today was ugly but we were due for it. On to the next one.

I guess this guy can come in and contribute immediately--at least he's another body in the midfield.
Probably accurate that he's basically a "bridge signing."
Also probably accurate that he's the only buy Arsene makes in January.

If that's really the only deal we make then that's unacceptable. We probably need another striker too. If Giroud goes down we are royally fricked. Theo rarely stays healthy and Sanchez is overworked. Danny is coming back... Maybe sometime this century.

Total shite show today, but hey beat Leicester 5-2.

Elneny looks pretty good. Two things about that video really bothered me though: the blatant handball in the box no call at 2:30 ( ) and that music ( ).

Looks like he would fit in well in our midfield
Seems that he's more of a DLP that can occasionally make runs forward than a CDM.

So he's Jack but Egyptian and not injured?

I'm digging this Ramsey-Chambers double pivot.

Very pleased with Chambers today. Some lovely skills and passes. A few missteps but nothing costly. He's earned another start IMO
Im thrilled he can play there. Depth at DM RB and CB, where I think he will start for us in the future when Per is gone. So important to have that kind of player for squad depth, and he's got potential every game starter quality.
