Our Med staff is shite. I thought giroud was going to be fine? fricking frick. Hearing poldi to juve but that we still in talks to get carvahlo. But why sell poldi when we have zero attacking options? Not that any new signing could play Wednesday, but we prob will need poldi.

Girouds injury was freak. Can't blame medical staff for that.

I'm worried about Wednesday. Gonna have to grind out a result then splash cash, and you know we will pay a hiked premium now that the world sees our injury issues.

I have a bad feeling we won't buy what we need. God Theo can't get healthy soon enough.

Both Arteta and Giroud had contact injuries, not much you can do to prevent those. It's just shitty luck, and god it'd be great to not have to play these qualifiers for once

Not for the injury, but why wasn't he taken to get scanned after the match? He could barely stand on it. So they just dilly dally for 2 days? This is the shite I'm talking about. They should have known Saturday his foot/ankle was broken.

they had to do multiple scans. much like wilshere's last year. sometimes it's hard to tell if there's a fracture.

Telegraph reporting possibly out for 3 months.

quote:

Arsenal fear Olivier Giroud could be ruled out for as long as three months if a second scan confirms that he has a broken ankle
So did the first scan show it's broken? I assume so based on this comment.

Its just curious that a college football player gets hurt, goes to the locker room, then minutes later find out the extent of the injury. yet at Arsenal, there is a consistent miss diagnoses. This has been going on for 8 seasons.

Maybe this isn't uncommon over there but it just seems like they are never rt.

Let's just wait until the outcome tomorrow against Besiktas ... if we advance, then I would expect at least 1 more signing

Great point and very true.

that isn't at all what happens though. they say they fear injury X, then they take them to the hospital and the injury is confirmed. they may say they fear an ACL tear or fear something, but they don't know for certain what it is until later.

this isn't a misdiagnosis. they've been trying to confirm what is is for 2 days. that's not a ridiculous amount of time at all. it wasn't like they gave him a clean bill of health and let him play and he fricked it up even worse.

I haven't read much about it myself, but did they come out and say the initial diagnosis is a broken ankle? When they say 'trying to confirm' to me that means that's what they come up with and now getting 2nd opinion.

Quentin Thomas was ruled out for the season a few weeks ago for LSU. Now he's going to play in the opener. Information changes.

evening standard saying we're worried giroud might be out until the new year! wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

frick.

anyways, looks like poldi is staying. manolas to roma is a done deal. we've only got two open slots for Non-HG players. which means we're either only signing 2 of CB, CM, CF or one of the 3 will be HG.

I agree, but QT is the most extreme change in the history of orthopedics. (or someone on LSU's staff is full of shite, more than likely)

L'équipe is saying Giroud is out three months and that the second scan confirmed the break, but the article also says it's his left foot, and there was a typo in the article, so maybe take that with a grain of salt. I find it hard to believe that a six four athlete can be that fragile.

Does fragility have anything to do with it though? The ball came at his raised foot at speed. He was in a vulnerable position. It seems like it's just a freak injury that only seems to affect our team. Sigh...

Pretty much. We need to reinforce or we will be in trouble.

It wasn't even his plant leg. He should be able to block a clearance attempt without breaking anything. I call that fragile, yes.
