A couple of years ago, I would've laughed at this. But after signing Ozil and Alexis, it seems Wenger can now go after who he wants.

You are correct. If we can get him, we should. It would be a massive signing and statement that Arsenal are now players for all trophies and any player in the world outside of a select few.

I mean it would be nice.. but I'd rather buy a £30m cdm and £15m CB

I'm not sure I would (considering cavani is a hell of a lot better than carvalho or bender or whoever we've been linked with), but framing it as an either or isn't truthful. we're not choosing between those two things. a CB will happen. a CM is looking increasingly unlikely. hell, Chambers may be our CM of the future (AW has said as much) making an expensive purchase at that position unnecessary.

you don't have many chances to get world class players. need to take advantage of that opportunity.

Arteta is going to cost us if he plays the entire season.

We're going to score goals, def is what will help in the longterm.

What would cavani do for the blowouts last year? Make it 6-4 instead of 6-1?

3 matches, with huge losses due to injuries. We beat Liverpool two out of three and the loss at City wasn't terrible. The only loss that really sucked was at Stamford Bridge.

We are stacked, and a guaranteed 3rd place finish is there.

I don't think that is true, and the 4-1-4-1 we played in the community shield is intriguing, though probably won't stay when özil returns.

we were not a great goalscoring team last year. definitely an area we can improve in.

not to mention that an oversimplified way to look at the tactics at play in those matches. with Sanchez and if cavani, those teams have to respect our counterattacking prowess. we didn't scare teams and they pressed higher against us because we had no pace in our squad.

I'm not arguing we're bad or anything glass just that if we have 50m to spend I think it could be better uswd than cavani.

Could be partially because I think he's a little bit overrated

Cavani, though I've never been his hugest fan, would take this club to the next level.

With that being said, there isn't a wager too high that I wouldn't bet on him not coming to Arsenal.

DDD, say that more directly. I'm having a hard time deciphering that triple negative.

I agree with glass, city game was crazy, we could have had 6-7 as well if the ref wasn't a moron. It seemed to be a similar problem, get out the first 15 minutes and we either beat or tied those teams. So we were rt there. Either way we have to stay injury free for the long haul. We need full seasons from Ramsey, wilshere, Gibbs. These guys rarely stay healthy and its delaying progress.

I was in bed half asleep after a looooong day of work, donating blood, and playing soccer

What I was trying to say was that although I think he would bring us to the next level, I would bet my truck that he doesn't come to Arsenal. I hate feeling like that but between his potential wages and transfer fee, I don't see it happening.

on Theo Walcott and Ryo…
They are not available. Ryo is very close after injury and Theo is, as I always said, end of August or start of September. That is back into training of course.

on Serge Gnabry…
He is not ready as well. I am not sure about the timeframe at the moment.

on David Ospina…
Ospina is two or three weeks away. He has a thigh strain from the Brazil vs Colombia game.

on Abou Diaby…
He's back in full training - that's good news. He needs to play a few games but this week he looked good in training.

on Laurent Koscielny…
Koscielny had a knock on his Achilles but he should be available for Saturday

Arsene's team squad update today. Great news about Kos.

Matt Law says Gnabry is being targeting by Soton, Villa, Sunderland, and Palace.

Can't wait for Saturday.
