khedira's injury history and price tag has us looking more closely at Carvalho. Matt Law is good. Jeremy Wilson of the telegraph, also good, RT'd it.

Sappy video about our ten year plan. It's real sappy. If we do well this year I think more and more people will realize what an amazing job Wenger did between 2005 and 2012. Literally our only plan until 2013 was have Wenger somehow get us into the CL spots. It's amazing how we got the results we needed considering how barren some of those squads were.

Yeah Law has picked up the Carvalho talk. Saw some agent talking about it too. There's definitely some back and forth going on there. He's the ideal buy to me. Hope we get it done.

We need him and he is still young enough to benefit from Wenger.

interesting interview with usmanov. the much discussed 'rights issue' would be awesome, if implemented, but it isn't happening. still don't know what to think about that guy.
it is amazing what AW did to keep us afloat. i get more and more angry though of how the stadium deal was structured. but i suppose it's the SHHs' right to make a shite ton of profit off the deal at the expense of the club, if that's what they wanted.
was reading zonal marking/michael cox/crazy4lsu's essay/chapter in SO PADDY GOT UP last night. the main thrust of it was that arsene has been a masterful manager overall in so many areas, but that he lacked the tactical acumen at times in individual matches. (there are copious quotes out there of our players talking about how little AW speaks of the opposing team in team talks). specifically though, it talked about how AW's overall philosophy worked better when we were a vicious counterattacking side that and defended deep but had loads of pace* as opposed to the technically skilled but non-dynamic squads of recent years. can't help but think that with the additions of sanchez and campbell, the hopeful health of ox and theo, and even sanogo up top with more frequency, that we could be ready to emulate those sides.
*I had no idea this tidbit: when we did fitness exams in 03/04, Bergkamp was the third fastest sprinter behind Henry and Pennant.

Sorry to hijack again. Looking for Jumbo in the fantasy thread. You need to pick.

Ahead of a young Ashley Cole is surprising. I thought Wiltord was somewhat fast as well. Was the test prior to Clichy's transfer? Just looked up the roster and noticed Quincy Owusu-Abeyie was on the squad as a teenager.

Sky Sports just reported Barca made a 10 mil pound bid for Vermalean. Looks like we'll have more reeling and dealing after all.

I wonder who we buy to replace him. I've been racking my brain trying to think of reasonable targets, but I can't think of too many. It would be amazing if we just went for it and bought Aymeric Laporte.

yeah, that should be interesting.
i'm listening to a BBC Radio feed of Arsenal U21s v. Forest Green Rovers. I have a problem.
3-3 right now. crowley just scored from 25 yds out to equalize. 2nd goal was apparently from a beautiful give and go exchange between zelalem and toral.

6-4 final. we ran rampant at the end. hayden had 2 goals and ajayi scored a tap in off a short corner.

michael cox picked us 4th. kind of annoying that he said we needed another player to contend (which in and of itself is true) but did not hold that same position for ManU, who he picked fourth. they need a couple of players badly IMO.
anybody ever read SO PADDY GOT UP? pretty cheap little essay anthology from a bunch of arsenal bloggers/writers. been worth the buck or two i paid for it so far.
edit: he picked ManU 3rd, MY BAD

You saw the banter between Brendan Rogers and LVG? Pretty funny and pointless ... unless media took it out of context (which I can't imagine

Just bought it for the beach. Thanks for the tip.

The Metro is linking us to Agger as a TV replacement. Makes sense. Was linked on Arsenal's media watch, if that means anything.

So DailyMail reports that Man U is set to offer us 15 mil pounds for Vermalean. If this and the Barca offer (10 mil) are accurate, which team would you rather Arsenal sell him to?

Depends on how much we need that extra 5 million in our pursuit of other players this window. Idk how fixed our transfer budget is
