If y'all don't get another striker, your title chances are doomed.

You also need defensive depth and a holding midfielder. You don't need another creative midfielder. Y'all are becoming Chelsea.

We know.

What we need is a runner from midfield. I don't know if Draxler is more a no.10 than a wide forward, but we need that more than anything.

This summer we need a CB, a DM, and a striker.

normally i would say we don't need another attacking player, but draxler is too bright a prospect for that to apply to. if we have a chance to get him, that's someone you have to take. if he can be a striker, great, even better. if not, he's still a massive talent and flawed Poldi + a versatile Santi aren't reasons not to buy him.

i'm not sure our title chances are doomed if we don't get another striker (if giroud stays fit, i think we're in fine shape), but it certainly is a dangerous exercise. there's really no one out there available in January to fill that void though. the only real possibility it seems is buying Vucinic which would be a terrible idea long term.

re-signing Baccy gives us a little more wiggle room in our dealings. we don't have to buy an RB now. if we do, that means we'll be seeing a lot more of Baccy at CB.

will be interesting to see what CM we target in the offseason. i wonder if we'll be after Bender again. i really think that long term, Wenger believes 2 of Rambo/Jack/The Ox can play together centrally. it worked at times vs. Coventry, i was actually surprised the restraint Jack and Ox showed when the other went forward. but their positioning still wasn't great, even when they stayed back, and we got caught out quite a bit in the second half.

If any team has a chance to sign a talent like Draxler they would be fools not to pursue him.

new thought: with the potential of draxler, theo, ozil, rambo, jack, ox, gnabry, etc. and the age of Per and Mikel i would be interested to see if we go for a more athletic CB this summer and experiment with higher line/higher pressure. with per and mikel, playing the deep line and not pressing as much is a must because athletically, those guys can't do that. seems like with kos and all those other young, athletic guys, we might be able to really excel with that style.

Well falmini has a 4 match ban and Ramsey is out another 6 weeks. We could actually use more midfielders. This stretch of games is really going to test this team. Hopefully we don't slip too far.

Hopefully Rambo comes back soon. Ox can play back there too. Unfortunately that leaves us with 1 less wing option.

In the summer we might. But Bayern won't sell him until they get Lewandowski

Would be great, don't think Bayern want to off load him in this window.

because there's no way Bayern would sell him this week. he and kroos may well be gone in the summer, but they'll be there for the rest of the year.

i'm sure we've made a call about mario though.

vucinic isn't exciting but he's better than Beowulf's sorry arse.

i think we can stay up with City in the title race. we could very easily be back on top this weekend. they've been on a unreal tear of late. they're due for a clanker, especially if aguero is out. i don't think we'll win the league, but i don't think city will run away with it. draxler and vucinic would only increase that belief (though Jack's health over the next 3-6 weeks is the true key to that).

This is definitely true.

This move (Vucinic and Draxler) should ensure second. I'm still absolutely certain that City will win it.
