i really don't think we'll be landing draxler this january (reports from Germany say there actually was no arsenal delegation negotiating in schalke today). just too many moving parts required to happen perfectly. we'll be one of the ones fighting for him in the summer, but i'd kinda be shocked if we could get a deal done this week.
i think city will win the league, no question. too much firepower. but i think it won't be a landslide.

I agree, but I think that's more down to the state of the league. In my view, three clubs improved in the summer: Chelsea (slightly), City (moderately), and Arsenal (greatly). The rest either stayed about the same (i.e. Everton, Spurs) or got worse (i.e. United, Swansea, West Ham). The top three are just so much better than the rest that they shouldn't drop enough points to allow either of the other two to run away with the league.

I won't believe any of this until it's set in stone, buttttttttttttt:
Schalke might be ready to accept 30m pound bid. Drax's wages to be almost doubled. (Mirror)
We might have agreed to terms with Vucinic for a loan til the end of the campaign (Tuttosport)

there's no way schalke would accept a lower fee than his buyout clause imo

Rumor is there's a little Cazorla to it. Schalke need the cash in now and we're willing to pay it almost all upfront if they do the deal in this window and for cheaper than the buyout

I'm so nervous/excited. All signs point to something breaking.
Get it done..

that would be nuts. haven't heard of them being in dire financial straits, but that's literally the only reason they should sell for less than his release clause. I'm still skeptical it gets done by tomorrow.
AW says Jack is out this weekend, but should be back vs Liverpool. Rambo is out weeks, as we know. flamini only has a 3 game suspension. rosicky may be back Sunday. should be back by Liverpool.

sweet band!
Between Vucinic and Drax ... this is why I don't believe anything about transfers until theyre officially on Arsenal.com.
Soccer transfer news is Europe's version of America's OK! and People magazine. Gossip that ain't true

BBC reporter says no Drax deal. says there was interest but AW wouldn't meet Schalke's asking price. says there may be a loan deal tomorrow.
not sure i believe the second sentence of that, but if they're reporting it, it isn't happening in January.
i just hope we can snatch him in the summer. disappointing because we do need reinforcements somewhere with these injuries piling up (again).

I really don't get that. It sounds like our offer and their valuation couldn't have been off by more than 7 or 8 million. That's nothing in today's market

yeah, personally i think that's BS. i think it was always an uphill battle to get it done this month. no replacement lined up and with Huntelaar back, CL is definitely in striking distance. not to mention, Drax should be back next week, instead of March as initially speculated when he got injured.

Does Draxler have a buyout? If Löw lets him play in the World Cup, that asking price may go up.
Regardless, his contract demands will.

buyout, but only in the summer. 45m euros.
it's a done deal he leaves in the summer and everyone will be after him. would have been nice to head off some of that interest.

We should pursue griezemen (sp?) again if the draxler thing is officially dead.
What's our current CM position looking like btw?
Ramsey still hurt, Arteta looks his age, flamini banned 3-4 matches, jack??. Sucks because you know they don't want to buy anyone with that much depth just temp out.

Still time. At this point in August we had no clue about Ozil. Offer the 45mm and get on with it.

problem is that ox being forced into CM solely means less wing depth. rosicky isn't a CM. at least with him back, we'll have someone who can give gnabry a breather (he won't be able to play every match). poldi should start sunday. hopefully ozil can take a breather.
