That's kind of the point. I know nothing about Cameroon except Eto'o, but I just wanted to make sure Mexico got their asses kicked and Brazil dropped out early.
In no way whatsoever does it need to be realistic.

You talk to the team doc?
idk how much they're going to push him, but for all we know he could be stitched up and then bandaged and ready to go for the Chelsea game.

Just watched after spending the morning in the duck blind. Looks like I made the right choice.
A couple thoughts:
- Flamini has a role for this team. What happened today was not it. There's a reason we got him on a FREE transfer. He's useful for less technical teams, but who was he matched up against today? FERNANDINHO, who was the man of the match for me (and he would have been so even without two goals).
- Loved what Theo brought, even without his goals. His runs make us so dynamic. He and Sagna are a scary tandem down that side.
- Thought Jack had good moments, but was thoroughly outclassed (middle finger, anyone?) by Zabaletta, who is my man of the match if you won't take Fernandinho. Might have been better to put Theo on the left to pin Zabaletta back, but that's not a criticism. Jack has to track better on the second goal.
- Score doesn't say it, but I thought it was a pretty damn even match. City finished their chances, and it got out of hand when we were reaching for goals late, but we had plenty we should have finished. I'm looking at you, Giroud. Love your back to goal play, but you've been poor facing the goal lately.
- Building off the point above. City's first goal was a set piece. Jack didn't track on the second, but it was a good open play goal. Flamini doesn't move to the ball with urgency on the third, fourth was another legit open play goal. Fifth and sixth were just when the game got out of hand, not worried about those. Yeah, it was 6-3, but there's a lot of correctable mistakes in there that don't have me too concerned.
- Need to add depth, quality depth, in transfer window. City has a better squad. They have the best squad, and we need to catch up. Ramsey needs a beast behind him to free him up even more. Arteta does great there and would have been much better suited for this match, but we need someone who can go box to box, step for step with guys like Fernandinho (has my man crush for him become obvious?).
- Last, but not least, Arsene got outgunned today. The game was to be won for us in the midfield, and he put our least technical player, Flamini, right in the middle of the pitch. An Arteta-Ramsey pairing was the absolute right call, and it cost us. That's two matches in a row he's got it wrong. Time to step up, Arsene, on the field and in the transfer market.

So it sounds like we need to find a replacement for Arteta, the heir apparent, is that Wilshere? Or will Wenger continue to try playing him out wide, or higher up the pitch?
Who is available that fits your description of a sure tackling, fast/athletic defensive midfielder who also isn't just a pitbull but can knock the ball around effectively? Sounds pretty pricey, unless we get some very young somewhat under the radar type player who takes a year to groom.

Still disappointed about the way it went down today, but nothing else to do now but flush it and look forward to Chelsea at home in 9 days. And this 9-day layoff couldn't have come at a better time for our team. Based on everything Arsenal has shown up until this week, I fully expect to see a different looking side take the field at The Emirates against the Blues.
There is nothing really to explain what happened today. I personally believe it was just a coming together of a number of different factors that created the perfect storm for that type of performance by Manchester City.
Not the least of which is their home form throughout this season. That team is simply unstopable at home. How they are so poor away from home (4 defeats, 2 draws, 2 wins, -1 goal difference) is a mystery to me. They are a very confident and clinical side when playing at the Etihad.
I also don't think our recent schedule of fixtures can be understated. To play a grueling game against Everton that was the late game played last Sunday, to traveling to a tough place like Napoli on Wednesday night in the Champions League, to then turning around and traveling to Manchester barely 48 hours later for the Saturday lunchtime kickoff this weekend, all of that would take a lot out of any team. City had that extra day of rest and preparation, and it showed between the two teams today.
Honestly, I'm quite surprised we attacked as well as we did and created as many chances as we did today. I agree with Wenger that we could have also pegged them for 6 goals today if we had better finishing and some poor decisions by the officials were not made over the course of the game. City had only allowed 2 goals to its opponents in 7 previous home games. To score 3 and have chances to score so many more says a lot about our attacking quality today, in my opinion.
The abysmal defending we saw today is just a one-off kind of thing, in my opinion. We had been outstanding defensively all season before today, the season opener against Aston Villa notwithstanding. I think we'll return to form on that regard as well after some deserved time off.
I think we will learn a lot about Arsenal when they host Chelsea. Even before we played City today, I thought the Chelsea match would be the most important of our season. Win it and take 3 points, and we'll still most likely be sitting at least 3 points clear at Christmas with trips to West Ham and Newcastle to close out the year. It's a great opportunity for us to get back on a run and stay top of the table heading into the January transfer window, perhaps even adding to our lead.
I still believe in this team! Keep calm and carry on you Gunners!

Jack is so good on the turn. I can't see him being a deep lying playmaker exclusively, and he doesn't have Arteta's reading of the game defensively yet.
We need Diaby at full strength, basically. He'd be the kind of guy we need, on his best day.

Paul Pogba. Pay up.

It's Bayern ... Oh well, you have to beat the best to be the best, and all that jazz.

Well, shite.
I don't mean to be all mopey Charlie Brown, but at least if we get knocked out early, we can have a fresher squad for a run at the Prem.
I wouldn't say that if I hadn't said it a couple weeks back. This probably isn't our year for a CL title, so a focused BPL run isn't the worst thing.
And, to be optimistic, we got points there last year. You never know.
