Yeah, Vieira wasn't the first big player to go under Wenger.

Looking forward to Saturday. Can't come quickly enough.

It's been a relatively sound philosophy. I think FSG admire the Arsenal model... thats why £27mm may be too much to pass up for Agger.

I'm not saying nothing positive came out of it but it is also a big reason we haven't been winning trophies.

The biggest reason we haven't won trophies is mostly luck. We've been very unlucky in cup finals, with injuries, and with players thinking they are bigger than the club. If Adebayor, Nasri, Hleb, and others didn't get a big head, and if we didn't have massive injury problems every year we tried to challenge for the title, we would be much closer to the top. I mean the season after Vieria left, we beat Juventus, Real Madrid and Villareal to go to the CL final, which we should have won. Again, we lost that final mostly down to bad luck, and nothing else.

Holy frick! That is an insane price for Agger, who for my money is as good as any ball playing CB in the league. For that money, I would buy Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, the CB for Montpellier who is already the captain at age 23.

Apparently, we've turned down £23mm already from Man City (2nd bid). Word, is they may come with a money + Adam Johnson bid (valued at £27mm)... He doesn't want to go and just recently got "YNWA" tattooed on his knuckles... Rodgers doesnt want him to go, but at some point, if the price is right...

Hell, they just paid £15mm for Jack Rodwell

Rumor is we're eyeing up Fernando Amorebieta, if Agger leaves

Look on the bright side, Leauxgan. Your out-dated kits are way better than having to get laser tattoo removal.

I actually had a Mathieu Flamini neck tat that I had to get lasered off after he Milan'd off.

well, that's misleading

I had it modified as a decent-enough rendering of Tyrann Mathieu, so now that he's off I don't know what the frick I'm going to do.

my entire penal, crotchinal, groinal area is one big canvas of Arsene Wenger's face. I know that's hard to picture but maybe one day, when you're ready, you'll see.

It seems like there should be so many young French boy sex jokes stemming from that post, but honestly I've got joke block.

No, he wasn't. But DB's point still stands. Outside of Anelka and Overmars, Viera was one of Wenger's earlier buy/sell players and is his 6th most profitable transaction (he made over £10M selling him nearly 10 after he was originally signed - someone posted a Bleacher Report on Reddit about it a few weeks ago).

I'd actually agree with Dandy. Cesc was the first we sold who we really didn't want to. Nasri the second.

Song told Sky Sports he's happy at Arsenal.

Ryo officially goes on loan to Wigan.

Y'all can't bitch much, if any, about Cesc.

He left to go home (he's not a bounty hunter or gold digger), and
he talks up the club something mad to any who
are interested in listening.

He helped greatly with the Cazorla affair, and
just may lend a hand with Isco.

Sorry to clarify, i took DB's points together as in us being a feeder club and it being the reason as to why we haven't won trophies. I disagree with that. The only players we've really sold in their relative prime under Wenger are Overmars, Anelka, Cashley, Ade, Cesc, and Nasri. Each of those we made tremendous profit and had suitable replacements for each except the last two. I don't think selling someone after their prime constitutes as being a feeder club. And i don't think our sales have weakened us as much as not finding suitable replacements for our CBs and GK who got too old.

I think Cesc was an absolute bitch in how he handled his departure, but he was magnificent for us as a player.
