RVP expected to play to against Koln. He told the Dutch manager Van Gaal that he would play 45 mins today. He is starting on the bench.

Arsenal looking good. Giroud and Cazorla have been impressive. 2-0 so far. TV5 header off a great Cazorla corner. Podolski PK. Giroud could have 2 goals but their keeper is playing out of his mind.

Certainly not letting Walcott or Ox take them.

All three new signings have looked very good. Cazorla's movement and passing have been bright and he is so quick on his feet and with his decisions. Podolski has floated in and out the game some. That said he does have 2 goals. Giroud is much more than just a target man. His combination play was good around the box, heading on to others and playing one twos. Had a couple of good shots saved.
As a team we look sharp offensively. Quick, decisive passing. Defense did ok.

Might've just let him take them because it's against his old club.

Cazorla really has been great. Pulling the strings well. Also, very two-footed. Takes corners on both sides using either foot.

Giroud has also been great and really deserves a goal. Crafty in his hold up play, links well, has a good shot on him.

BTW, the lineup in the first half was

Mannone
Yennaris-Per-TV5-Gibbs
Coquelin-Ox-Cazorla
Walcott-Giroud-Podolski

It will be interesting to see who Wenger puts out in the 2nd half and if he gives our new 3 signings a long run out.

So only Poldi stayed on from the first half. Gnabry, Gervinho, Song, Santos, Jenkinson, Djourou, Arshavin, Diaby. Don't think RvP is on yet. Kos is the other CB I think.

Holy shite that dude almost scored a stunner from 35 yards out. Hit the underside of the post.

Edit: more like 40 yards. Chesney was off his line a bit, dude took a hard, dipping shot.

Double edit: Gervinho scored after a real nice run, feigned cross.

What a run and finish by Gervinho aka 5head. He has looked dangerous since coming on.

Is anyone else feel weird about being this excited about the upcoming season?
So used to the doom and gloom drama.
