What’re your predictions? Top four doesn’t seem to unreasonable imo. I don’t think we have a chance at winning the league but I think we’ll reach the ucl again.
Top 4 & UEL win is the dream.

We've been bad going forward since the 2013/14 season. Look at those late noughties teams. The play was direct, and our positional play was much better. Since Sanchez came, our offensive positioning fell apart, with an over-reliance on Sanchez's dribbling. Things especially came apart after Santi got injured.

Having better positioning on the transition will help us stop leaking goals during key transition phases. Notice how the midfielders press up on the ball carrier during defensive transition. Notice the narrow spacing in the low block. Notice how the wide players aren't pressing the immediate threat on the wing. We are doing lots of little things the right way. I see lots of positives, especially from where it was during the end of the Wenger era.

Calum set for a Fulham medical on a season long loan?

Just seen that. It’s extremely disappointing. I guess they have more faith in Holding at this point. I figured 1 of the 2 would get loaned out. Really glad he will get a lot of PL minutes this year tho.

I'm not saying there's no truth to it but the source is the Daily Mail which is hardly reliable.

Yeah hate that move unless we are bringing another defender in.... also saw that Lucas could be set to be sold.

Looks like it's true. I agree it's a bad decision unless they have someone else coming in better.

I don't understand it. Chambers is at worst our 3rd choice CB who we just gave a new contract to.

quote:

Emery on Chambers when he signed a new contract - " I'm delighted that Callum has extended his stay with us. He played an important role last season and will be part of my plans this season."

What happened between then and now?

Very surprised with loan. Any chance we make another signing before the deadline. Holding should have went out on loan instead imo.

There are rumblings about us being interested in Vida.

I wouldn't be in favor of that. We would be introducing in another new CB who is fairly old too.

I wish we went after the Turkish CB from Freiburg. He looked good.

Small but maybe valid point is Chambers is a right sided CB, like Sokratis and Mustafi. Maybe we’re in for a left sided CB and that’s why Holding was kept instead of Calum.

I like Calum. Great on the ball and great passer. Needs to get more defensive bite so maybe this move will help.

I don't like it either. Vida had a solid World Cup but he's not going to improve us much over Chambers. And with his age he has zero resale value just like Sokratis. Instead of buying 2 decent CBs go and buy one stud CB.

Kroenke has bought out Usmanov.
Sky
Jeremy Wilson claims Usmanov has accepted

Arsenal Football Club will now be a private organization, spelling the end of the club as we know it. No more open financial records, and record amounts of penny pinching the world has never seen before.

Hold on to your seats, boys
