Lacazette has a small muscular problem so he's out. 3 at the back is interesting. Hope it works.

Mkhitarain has been pretty horrible today.

God, how many golden opportunities will Mkh throw away today?

If Ozil would have played we would have scored a minimum of 4.

Miki is such a strange player. Moments of great quality mixed in with moments of WTF.
Would’ve preferred Ozil obviously but a win is a win.

Arseblog made an interesting point on the Arsecast on Monday. The only people happy after the Mkhi and Alexis swap are the players and their agents. Both teams somehow ended up with worse players.

His first start for us, Miki had three assists. Thought he would flourish without Mou.

I disagree. Sanchez's last 6 months here were terrible.
Mkhi is the best wide midfielder we have at this point. Note I say midfielder, as Mkhi does the defensive work (most of the time) in a more natural manner than Iwobi, who is definitely closer to a winger or wide forward. If you are going to ask me for the distinction I'm making between wide midfielders and wingers, wide midfielders, for me, play deeper and narrower, face the game head-on with the ball at their feet, and look to combine in closer passing patterns, drawing their markers with them. Wingers, for me, play wider, drive into channels and into the box and try to play incisive passes or crosses. Mkhi fits the first description while Iwobi fits the second, especially this season. Iwobi also pins back his fullback far more, while Mkhi generally moves central, though his best work for Arsenal has come down the right side. Mkhi's combination play with Bellerin led to a slew of opportunities in the early part of the season, but his play is too central now, too far from his fullback. Iwobi, in contrast, rarely uses his fullback (expect for his lovely pass to Kola last game) to the degree that Mkhi uses.
Iwobi has been the better player this season, partly because I think Mkhi might have to cover too much space. Or that he feels he has to cover too much space. I thought against Bournemouth though, he was just wasteful while he was getting into good positions. That might be more indicative of his confidence rather than his positioning.

A lot of it is desire. Just don't see it with Mkhi. Tough games coming up need to stay in reach and we don't need passengers out there.
It's something they touched on, but when xhaka fricks up or is not playing well, he still plays his arse off.
And it's not just xhaka. Guys like Iwobi, bellerin, welbeck, laca, I have felt are all bought in. Holding is another.

I’m ready for Xhaka to become full time captain. Ozil is the most talented but he’s hit/miss a lot, and he comes off as extremely passive.

We really have a nice group of youngsters. If these kids can develop and grab some first team positions it will allow us to spend more freely in the transfer market.

Did Jenkinson play CB? I was travelling and I couldn't see the game.

Yes he did. Nketiah played great, surprised he didn't get one.
