The newer ones are tearing exactly where the last pair did. They just wear out?

Holy shite. Again. Brand new: Updated 9/9/20

Donesky. They HAVE to make it through the football game tomorrow night.

Get some all kangaroo leather, legite Mizuno or Copa Mundials.

Also, for as much as I assume your kid plays, he's probably going to go through a pair a year easy regardless.

He doesn’t care about having the newest, brightest cleats...but he.’a always worn Nike. Time to have him look otherwise.

Most cleats are only designed to last a season, maybe two. Talking through practice and games.

If you want something that will truly hold up, get MIJ Mizuno‘s, but be ready to splash some cash. Kangaroo or calf leather cleats with a riveted sole will hold up well too (Copa’s, Diadora, etc)

He may have 6 months of use in these.

Practices 3.5 hours a day on M and W, football for a couple hours every T and Th. Probably just over use.

Natural grass or turf?

Have to take into account materials. Synthetic knit upper glued to a plastic sole. Consistent use and hard cutting can cause them to bust like that. Could also be the model. Think the Hypervenom is the same boot Jack Grealish used to wear busted to hell

Those look much wider than the Nike setup.

I’ll look into sizes.

They are. And kangaroo leather will stretch so the fit could get sloppy. Top end cleats are almost always on sale, I’d just keep buying whatever works...if you find a good sale, order two pairs.

For synthetic uppers, I’ve had good luck with my Puma Future 18.1.

They’re done. Need more support than that no matter what. That rip flexes open.

Yes. I remember the number for the adizero 99g's use being like 10. Which means you can only expect them to fall apart after being worn 10 times. Most of the top silos have use numbers under 30.

Alright...another $200 pair of boots. He says no to the Copa, wanted to stick with Nike. Went Superfly instead of Venom.

Mercurial Superfly VI Elite...all blacks

Anything I can do to make them last longer?

Shocked at ‘What the Mercurial’ special edition of these boots cost...$360 and up. Amazing looking, but damn.

As a relatively young guy (mid 20s), I get it. Copas look like old man boots, 100%.

I've had my first pair of Copas for about 2 months now and not buying a pair when I was younger because they aesthetically looked bad to me is my 3rd biggest regret in life.
Honestly, if I were you and had the disposable income, I'd secretly buy him a pair. Or any all leather type of boot.

This. He is using the shite out of them. Personally I like to have 2-3 different pairs to rotate and kicked footballs with different cleats than I played soccer with.
