There is rarely a time when he panics. Always calm and composed on the ball. Brilliant.

Good God! I've been sayin' it. I've been sayin' it for ten damn years. Ain't I been sayin' it, Miguel? Yeah, I've been sayin' it.

I guess it's because I don't follow his club play much, but he is so impressive everytime I see him play. He literally seems like he can do whatever he wants out there

Very true. He is he most underrated player of his generation. True fans of the sport have to appreciate his sublime greatness. Italy doesn't have the trophys like Spain does, but IMO he is better than either Xavi, Iniesta, or Jesus.

The man is amazing.

He has been good for years. Did you not see him in 2006 with Cannavaro and DEl Piero and Grosso and company??????? In the world cup which Italy took home?

Very doubtful when comparing the form of each in this tournament. Pirlo has been the best player by far in this competition.

Age of posters more than anything is probably why Pirlo doesn't get much recognition on boards like these. He had injury problems that kept him out of the 2010 WC and plagued him the next season as well. Only those who watch Serie A a lot have seen how consistently incredible he has been and knew he'd fully recovered from that 11/2 year span of battling injuries.

I always viewed Pirlo and Gattuso as the perfect pairing for Milan and Italy. Pirlo did the pretty work and Gattuso did the dirty work.

exactly. glass appreciates the beautiful game as much as i do. and to compare spains last 3 games with italy's is a joke. pirlo is playing better than anyone, and italys defense is so good. i dont see any way that spain wins outside of pks
