You Balkan?

Not a chance he would play for Albania

Why not, just cause it would be harder for him to qualify for a major tournament? Albania has a decent little team. It would take something special for them to qualify but that's not the point. I kept reading how his family claimed they were giant patriots and then he does this crap. I wonder if this was his decision or his dads. And no I'm not Albanian, just the principle of the matter.

The reason he even grew up in Belgium is because they moved so his father didn't have to serve in the army so at least he's being consistent

So in your opinion is Judas not really a Judas?

This is totally his father's decision. I wouldn't be surprised if there were some promises made to select Januzaj for the WC. With Benteke out that changes things for their front line, and they have no striker with any experience behind Lukaku. I imagine Jelle Vossen will probably go to the WC, but there are spots available for Januzaj.

Who are you referring to? Rossi?

Yeah, I would be absolutely shocked if he weren't selected for the WC.

Yes, Rossi.

Rossi - Parents born in Italy and he was born in US. Chooses Italy.

Januzaj - Parents born in Albania and he was born in Belgium. Choses Belgium.

Yea I don't think he's a judas. He should've chose Italy.

Zlatan is a judas however, but he's still my favorite player. He's about as Swedish as Bin Laden was American.

Look at Kolasinac. He's a true patriot. Turned down Germany to play for Bosnia even though he was born in Germany. He knows where his roots are. He's the best LB in the bundesliga (Alaba is his bitch) and would've started and dominated for the Germans at just 20 years old. But no, he chose the right path and is a hero for it!

I have plenty of Balkan friends born in the states or ones who moved here. They are American as it gets

His dad had a huge influence in all of this

Yea but America is awesome and Sweden isn't. Why anyone wants to play for those uppity bastards is beyond me. Maybe it's cause of those big breasted blondes.

Why? Because of arbitrary national heritage?

That is a silly comparison. The sport reflects the globalized world, where national affiliations are just examples of the growing wealth of the West. And where exactly should have Zlatan played if not Sweden? His father is a Bosniak and his mother is Croat.

So how far back should heritage (in lieu of country of birth) count in which country you should represent? Should Brian McBride have represented Ireland. I'm sure he has some Irish bloodlines.

It's also silly to call Januzaj a traitor when his country didn't exist as a corporal entity until 2008, when Januzaj would have been thirteen years old.
