well yeah but 2 major points
1. you got a haul for him b/c you may have sold him at his value's peak (and may not have been able to buy costa without selling romelu)
2. y'all had MAJOR striker issues for almost half a decade and finally have a stud. lukakku being a depth option kind of shows that he would not have been the solution if he had to be the guy, and you're back to having to frick around with sub-par strikers

I mean Lukaku needs to play, and despite not being completely on form, he'll probably reach a double digit goal tally in the league for the third straight season. Not bad for a 21 year old. Still think Chelsea sold him too quickly.

I know what you mean, but you guys are world class when it comes to transfers, and have been for a few years now. It looks like it may be the right move for now, but Costa does have several years on Lukaku and it seems to me is less durable.
I feel like Costa has missed a big chunk of time this year, and Lukaku hasn't. Is that right, or has Lukaku missed time for injury also?

they can always just buy him back in a few years when everton can't afford him anymore, like they did with Matic

Lukaku has missed time this year as well. Basically injuries are assured and that's why you need a big squad. Lukaku couldn't stand playing second fiddle as a 20 year old, hence why he went out on loan and then got sold.

Lukaku has just been linked with Atleti, which would be an amazing steal for them. Not that Chelsea won't buy him back at some point.

China's second-richest man bought a 20 percent stake in them earlier this year. Don't know if he's pumping money in for transfers.

Probably the Costa and Felipe Luis money combined with the money from the CL. They are still in a shite ton of debt as far as I can tell, but they are about to move to a new stadium and will probably be top ten in revenue after then. They probably will sell someone, as they just bought Angel Correa who is a promising Argentine.

barca also befits from an amazing academy and the guys who don't make it they loan off and then sell out much like Chelsea are doing now.

That was Valencia that sold Silva, Mata, and Villa to service their debt. Atleti did sell Aguero and De Gea.

Which was only established in its current form by Cryuff during the 80's, and only started producing players a decade later.
The FFP model is tailor made for managers who have vision and are afforded time to work things out.
